purpleronnie Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 Good on you bud, just remember though, love and good relationships aren't based on money or materialistic things, feelings mean more and are alot stronger, Valentine's day or any other day should mean the same regardless!! I completely agree. But I thought why not, its her first trip to england and wanted it to be special. Hopefully I wont be setting the bar too high. Its all downhill from here.
purpleronnie Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 You should never feel guilty about spending time, effort or money on a loved one. Your intentions are very good and you both should enjoy yourselves!!! Thanks, I've never stayed at a 5 star hotel before so that might be fun.
Sparky Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 We generally go out for meal every year , Zizzis or ask will be the place of her choice no doubt but i dont mind either in fairness
Dr The Singh Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I completely agree. But I thought why not, its her first trip to england and wanted it to be special. Hopefully I wont be setting the bar too high. Its all downhill from here. Mate, the bar is so high, meh can'ts see it!! I hope you and your lovely have a good time, that what counts the most!!! If it's mean to to last, she will appreciate you all the same when times are less luxurious!!!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 Do you need a reason to be romantic to the one you love? It's just exploiting people. Probably the only day of the year that's more commercialised than Christmas.
Dr The Singh Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 Thanks, I've never stayed at a 5 star hotel before so that might be fun. Mate, if you get to use any of the facilities. I've stayed in some really well equiped hotels with wonderous facilities and all i've done is slept in the bed!!!

That may well happen, we've got lots to do, we're only in london for 3 days so it might turn out that I'm just paying for a very expensive bed.
Uncle Albert Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I'll be spending Valentines Day at Vice Versa in Loughborough. Ann Summers night on there. Yes then.

Did you not read the above? Im pissing that off for Vice mate. Did you not hear? Anne Summers night. Actually I maybe able to nip Frankie and Bennys if we can get an early reservation. 6:30pm do you? Will give me enough time after footy that way.
Lillehamring Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 booked in for dinner at maiyango... anyone been? proper brownie points or exspensive mistake?
James. Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 booked in for dinner at maiyango... anyone been? proper brownie points or exspensive mistake? £47.50 for 6 courses is a reasonable price (especially on Valentines Day) if the food is as good as it looks. If I take my girlfriend out for a meal in London I'm happy if it comes in under a ton.

cisono Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I'll be spending Valentines Day at Vice Versa in Loughborough. Ann Summers night on there. Yes then. I thought at Vice Versa nearly every night looked like Ann Summers night ...
DB11 Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I feel like an idiot posting things like that especially during these tough times, but should I feel guilty about it?, I'm spending it on someone else so I guess thats a bit better. I certainly wouldnt have chosen a 5 star hotel if I was staying on my own. Are you rich?
Uncle Albert Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 I thought at Vice Versa nearly every night looked like Ann Summers night ... Most probably mate. Will cost abit to get in there no doubt. Conning gits. <_<

Sods Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 Glad I haven't got to do anything this year for Valentines Day. My Mum and Dad got married on Valentines Day as well, Dad always says its the best decision hes ever made. Cancelling two anniversaries for one. Smooth.
Ultra Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 No-one's yet suggested buying their loved ones a ticket for Hartlepool. Can't imagine why..
fox123 Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I have ordered Fillet of Venison from Highlandgame.com, which I will be cooking with a shallot rosti. Have loved cooking recently and whilst Valentines day is meant to be a day of romance, I think as long as you and the person you are with enjoy each others company and have mutual respect and understanding, no matter what the day, you should have a long fruitful relationship.
James. Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Come raving with Liv and I instead. If it'll involve snorting heart-shaped lines of ketamine off each other's chests then I'm all over it.
