C-man Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 I know that individual player threads can sometimes get boring (ala Mark Davies), and I know Steve has a poll on him already today, but I feel that his heroic performances this season merit another one. That and the fact that he has: 193 Career Goals. I can't find any proof that he has 193 goals, other than soccerbase.com which says he has 190, but thats not counting his goal for Scotland B, and it misses 2 of this seasons goals. If he can get his 200th by the end of the season, he deserves his own parade. I LOVE STEVE.
Tommeh Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Quite simply my favourite player in football. Alot of people had it in for him at the back end of last season and the stick he took at the start of the season was undeserved. All season I think he's performed well and in many ways been our most vital player, but since late November certainly he has been different class. Just seeing how much every goal means to him is brilliant the way he took the penalty last night and just stood right in front of all the fans going mad and him starting right at us.... God.
lildave3 Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 I think we all know my feelings for the guy. Majestic.

Agree with everything you've said Tom. I asked my Sheff Weds fan mate what he thought of him - 'Different Class' was his reply. Then he told me that they almost signed him one season, the bid fell through for some reason, and the following season he scored 3 against Wednesday! Hero.

Spot on matey. Big steve has taken alot of flack, and i think alot of criticism that he has had this season is undeserved. Since Fryatt signed his contract if not before he has upped his game even more and is so far my player of the season, if it wasn't for him Fryatt would never have reached his 20 goals before xmas.
Corky Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 He's been immense this season, really changed my opinion of him. Works hard, and is showing plenty of passion. Fantastic to see him score the penalty last night (right in front of me too ) and his celebration said it all. Top bloke and player in this division. An integral part of our team.
CosbehFox Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 All the stick I took off mates and down Goals for having Howard 38 last season. Now, it's the 'cult shirt'. I liked him at Luton, I remember when he terrorised us at Kenilworth Road and finally scored with a bullet header. He's also a top man for team spirit.
Koke Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 I really don't wanna piss on your cheese cakes, but when/if we get to the Championship, I wouldn't trust Howard to lead our front line. We definitely need to invest in a first choice striker in the summer. Yeah he's been exceptional this season and deserves all the applause he can get, and some of the stick he gets it's quite frankly unbelievable harsh. 193 career goals, and just 7 more to reach his landmark - How sweet would that be if it happened to be the goal that secures us automatic promotion.
C-man Posted 18 February 2009 Author Posted 18 February 2009 I agree Kareem, he may not be first choice next year, and that's why I want him to get his 200th this season.
CosbehFox Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 I agree with him also but there's a lot of areas what need addressing for next season.
Father Ted Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Stevey stats: - Sooper Steve used to be a roofer and he dug up roads. - Sooper Steve can play centre-half. - Sooper Steve's celebration is that of Alan Shearer as he is a Newcastle fan. - Sooper Steve won the East Midlands Achievement award. - Sooper Steve is god.

"Super" Steve is widely known in his home town of Durham for winning not one but three Blue Peter badges for his work collecting milk bottle tops when at Primary school. Not only did he appear on the show, coming up to John Noakes' knee, but his efforts eradicated drought in several regions of North Wales. Howard's favourite hobby is collecting different varieties of rabbit, which currently stands at 73 and includes a highly prized multi-coloured Peruvian bunny. For relaxation, Steven partakes in nude parachuting. source
maddog Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Id just love to see him score some headers like Les Ferdinand used to do. Please score some headers Howard please. Les Ferdinand scored 12 in 29 appearences for us, i bet 6 of them at least were headers. And he was age 36 odd when he played. Howards only 32. Headers from the target man is all i ask, attacking the ball from crosses is all i ask, and positioning himself correctly to attack the cross and making a good go at it is all i ask. 1 header in 62 appearences for the club is simply shit. Score some headers! 5 headed goals between now and the end of the season and il be happy.
Koke Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Maddog, why does it matter how he scores? He could score with his cock for all I care. You don't tell your strikers how to score.
maddog Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Maddog, why does it matter how he scores? He could score with his cock for all I care. You don't tell your strikers how to score. Fryatt scores goals with his feet, Howard should score headers, Howards not really a footballer with his feet really, more his hugeness and massive head
JoeyB Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Fryatt scores goals with his feet, Howard should score headers, Howards not really a footballer with his feet really, more his hugeness and massive head Do you watch the same game we do? Howards main strength is his size & strength of him, if you play the ball into to him he'll hold the ball up and bring other players into play? Why does it matter how he scores? surely the main thing should be the fact he IS scoring. Saying that if he scores 5 goals with his head for the rest of the season and you'll like him is just a stupid comment. i mean look at Adebeyor(sp) he dosen't score as many goals with his head as he should do does he?
Koke Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 There's only room for ONE Howard. And ONE Superman. Superman Howard
Raj Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 I think we all know my feelings for the guy.Majestic. And he has similar feelings for you too oh little mighty one. SH's done alright i suppose. He's still fat though. And he needs to score 45 goals in the CChip for me to unequivocally admit hes done alright.....
andyh1884 Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 Fryatt scores goals with his feet, Howard should score headers, Howards not really a footballer with his feet really, more his hugeness and massive head Perhaps you'd care to check out the highlights of the Walsall game and his sumptuous chip for King's goal
C-man Posted 19 February 2009 Author Posted 19 February 2009 Fryatt scores goals with his feet, Howard should score headers, Howards not really a footballer with his feet really, more his hugeness and massive head Yeah that's right, that's how it works in football. One striker must score with his head and the other with his feet. Other goals should be disallowed. How can you say he's not a footballer with his feet, but with a massive head, and then complain that only one of his THIRTEEN (13) goals this season is a headed goal. Do the maths maddog, or take it to your math teacher to help you.
Corky Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 Fryatt scores goals with his feet, Howard should score headers, Howards not really a footballer with his feet really, more his hugeness and massive head They score goals, that's all that matters.
C-man Posted 19 February 2009 Author Posted 19 February 2009 Lets not let maddog ruin Steve's thread. He's a hero, he doesn't deserve shit posts in it.
Daggers Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 Why does anyone reply to maddog? He's just Ash17-light.
