Brainy Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Its called a balanced view point. You'll have one...someday. as will you
Darkzzz_ Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Just hope another English team can play Barce in the next round and pound them bithches to the ground aswell. Well those are some choice words, I am not sure if you are trying to provoke a reaction from a avid Barca bum boy but you aren't going to get one. Here is my view for what it is worth. I hate to say it but the way things are going you would more than likely be right. Like it or not the premier league is having its dominance, I don't begrudge them of that, I just want to see more English talent developed properly. The premier league in my eyes isn't the league I enjoy the most, It doesn't excite me the most but at the moment it is showing it is the place to be, hands down, you would be a fool not to admit it. I just wish more people would admit when other leagues and teams do well instead of going by the past or going by a few games they watch. I have and will never judge a league I don't watch, hence why I don't comment much on the bundesliga because I haven't watched it as much as the likes as SUAS, Catburger and a few others. I really appreciate their views when they write about it because they know what they are talking about. I am not going to argue about it anymore and instead enjoy what I like, Albert likes his premier league stuff and that is fair enough, I could argue with him all day but it isn't worth it because I won't change his mind and he won't change mine. But I will say one thing to you mate, just respect other peoples views and they will learn to respect yours, like I have. The CL isn't over just yet for Barca, mark my words.
Joe. Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Barca would beat Chelsea or Arsenal, but not United or Liverpool in my opinion.
Darkzzz_ Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Barca would beat Chelsea or Arsenal, but not United or Liverpool in my opinion. Fair comment Joe. I would go along with that mate, although I would hope you are wrong. Man united I can tolerate, but Liverpool I just don't get them sometimes, Rafa as much as he annoys me, isn't silly when it comes to Europe. He is smart.
lildave3 Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Right, what was that song Liverpool were singing 'We'll be running'? I've heard it sung before, and i've looked for it and couldn't find it. It annoyed me. Now I still can't find it.
Bert Posted 12 March 2009 Posted 12 March 2009 Barcelona would be a closer title challenger for United than anyone else would. But, I think United are the best team in the world right now. Closely followed by Barca. Liverpool are good in Europe, we all know that. But to be the best in the world, you have to do it in the domestic league too. Liverpool for example will beat Chelsea, then go and stuff it up against Middlesborough. This would not happen with Barca or Man Utd. Saying this it speaks volumes for the premiership that 50% of the teams left in the champions league ply their trade there. When was the last time that all teams from one/the same league qualified for the quarter finals?

Bert Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Last year Exactly why I asked the question, I didn't know! Was they all "English" teams?
Shrenchel Posted 13 March 2009 Posted 13 March 2009 Right, what was that song Liverpool were singing 'We'll be running'? I've heard it sung before, and i've looked for it and couldn't find it. Could be a new one I guess, it's been a few months. Could be the tottenham foreskin one but that doesn't really seem like their thing.

Heard it sang at the darts in Edinburgh too, presumed it was a scottish thing.

purpleronnie Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 as will you Yeah me stating some La Liga teams were better than premiership teams, and some premiership teams were better than la liga teams wasnt a balanced view at all. Dozy ****er.

Dozy ****er. I wouldn't worry too much, you could have an opinion on here and some people don't have any of it. Some are very clueless. I guess they can't help it. fook them that's what I say. It's only a forum, I have to remind myself of that sometimes.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 March 2009 Author Posted 19 March 2009 Hope Chelsea draw United and Barca get Arsenal. They would be entertaining draws. With Liverpool to get the winner of United Chelsea in the Semi's.

Nah, Chelsea - Man U games are dull... Man U - Liverpool, Arsenal - Barca, Bayern - Porto and Villarreal - Chelsea please
Joe. Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Love to see a Man Utd v Barca final. I thought their semi-final last year was shocking to be honest.
purpleronnie Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 I thought their semi-final last year was shocking to be honest. Yep it was, but it has the potential of being something great.
Simi Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 United v Liverpool meaning the second leg would fall on the anniversary of Hillsborough.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 March 2009 Author Posted 19 March 2009 Love to see a Man Utd v Barca final. Couldnt think of anything worse, can you remember their semi-final last year? Dull was the word. Nah, Chelsea - Man U games are dull... Man U - Liverpool, Arsenal - Barca, Bayern - Porto and Villarreal - Chelsea please Chelsea now though are playing free attacking football and Man Utd dont like that style so it could be a good game. Bayern are still the team I think that most English teams will not want the most but if I was an English team I wouldnt mind playing them at all, especially Klose is out for both matches. German teams dont travel well and our English teams have good records in Germany. Would be nice to see Porto Villareal draw each other.

My point is a Barca v Man utd final has all the potential of being great with the players and style of play. No guarentee of it being that way though.

How very wrong they were, I dont think that Champions League Final will ever be beaten to be honest.
purpleronnie Posted 19 March 2009 Posted 19 March 2009 Probably not. I remember at 3-0 I was going to switch it off....so glad I didn't.
