This could and should be the best football movie of all time, the book is probally the best football novel ever made. I hope Giles and Lorimer get invited to the opening. Just a shame Clough and Taylor aren't alive for this.

Agred, it was a good read, but hopefully the film sticks to it and the script does the book & overall story justice.

The book was brilliant. I'm not too sure the film will live up to it, but if you put it out of your mind and try and enjoy it as something separate it should be alright. Bit like the football factory.

Urg really not sure whether i could sit through a film with derby and forest in it.

He hadn't gone to Forest at that point and he'd just dropped Derby in the shit after winning the league. Stop being a nob.

Yeah definitely mate, really sensible attitude, I can't watch films with topics I don't like in them either.

Just watched a time to kill but it's alright because I absolutely adore racism and little girls being raped.

Got a ropey review in Empire. Clough's family have distanced themselves from it.....

If you've seen the book, you'll know why.

It depicts Clough as an insecure, bung-taking alcoholic, rather than following the myth of sainthood which has arisen since his death.

The fact that Clough was a major influence on MON means that he is relevant to us as well as to the fans of the clubs he played for and managed.

And there are at least THREE occasions where he should have been offered the England job.

I have read it and I personally don't find the character a slur on Clough really. That was just him and the ilk of how football operated at the time.

Still can't believe I haven't read the novel yet, bought it for my dad for his birthday with the intention of nicking it after he'd finished it. Sadly he's a slow reader... :D

On the subject of Cloughie, anyone read Provided you don't kiss me? Excellent read.

Fu cking duuuuhhh. Let me introduce you to something called sarcasm. Now i know it might be a hard thing for you to fathom because you're probably too busy raping little girls.

Cheers mate. There goes my chances of infiltrating Ultra's inner circle.

You're joking? It's probably done it wonders.

... wait... what? We don't make jokes like that anymore? D'awwww.

I am considering it, think I might read the book first before I watch it.

Anyone watch the programme about Brian Clough last night on ITV1? Was pretty good actually.

Yea man, was on for over an hour. Gripping Television. Some of his quotes were really good and his banter with Don Revie on some news show was the highlight of the programme for me.

It might be on the ITV's Iplayer thing pal.
