Tabou Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Me and my mates have been willing her to lose for weeks just so that this can happen. Excellent news.Where did Yasmina's massive chebs come from last night? Completely threw me as i'd missed them every other episode! Plural?
General Smuts Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Plural? Cuts me deep Gareth. I thought more of you
Tommeh Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Either could have won, best 2 were in the final. Ross was brilliant on You're hired and Kate needs a phonecall from Nuts asap. Very enjoyable series, James is still the Don and pantsman is a farce. Good afternoon.
lou Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Yasmina looked top drawer last night She did actually look lovely in the last bit after he hired her. Much better than Kate actually who didnt look so good with her hair curly. I thought hed pick Yasmina, Kate was just a bit too robotic and lacking a bit of spark IMO I think he liked Yasmina from day one.
FilboFox Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 As usual I've chosen the wrong person to win... I've always said that Kate was the strongest candidate and sure enough she got to the final only to lose. Every year I pick out the person I think is the best and yet they always come second. Perhaps Sir Alan sees that too and decides that they would do better on their own and he should give the opportunity to someone who he sees needs a bit more guidance? I have to say though that I'm surprised that Yasmina was even in the final, let alone the winner... she rarely stood out as a good candidate and even on the tasks she was good at, she wasn't exactly brilliant. The catering one? Yes, she made the most profit and won the task but come off it... I'd never have paid for those disgusting things she made... In my view, she coasted through to the final off the back of other people making mistakes... had they been more careful and not made such ridiculous blunders, I think Yasmina would have been sussed out a long time ago and chucked. In fact, I think it'd have been a far better final had it been Kate vs Debra as in my view, she was a better candidate and had far more potential to do well in the business world than Yasmina ever will. Kate on the other hand showed great leadership skills, organisation, sales ability, vision to see what needed changing when things weren't going right... the only task she didn't do very well on was the one where she had to sell those crappy cat toys. Other than that, she was the outstanding candidate throughout the season and deserved to win out of the two finalists. But then, it's Sir Alan's choice and I'm sure he has his reasons...
MarkDeVries Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Shugs picked Yasmina because he goes for someone with a few rough edges (Lee last year). Kate was the finished article, which isn't what he wasnted I guess
StanSP Posted 8 June 2009 Author Posted 8 June 2009 Shugs picked Yasmina because he goes for someone with a few rough edges (Lee last year).Kate was the finished article, which isn't what he wasnted I guess Kate isn't a finished article. But Alan likes risk-takers. Yasmina took more risks than Kate. Kate kept it simple compared to Yasmina I think.
Shrenchel Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Thing is. The final is filmed in November. They film two endings and Alan Sugar gives them both temporary jobs somewhere is his organisation because they can't seek other employment til the show is aired. Then in June Alan Sugar makes his decision and they edit in the right sequence. It's quite possible some of his decision is based on how they perform when they are working for him.

Didn't know that, if true, it's obviously gonna have a MASSIVE inpact on his decision and abit unfair!!!

MarkDeVries Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I did not know any of this went on. Good job the series has finished
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 Kate isn't a finished article. But Alan likes risk-takers. Yasmina took more risks than Kate. Kate kept it simple compared to Yasmina I think. Yasmina (as much as I love her) was not a risk taker at all. Always went for low end products, never risked anything "killer". Played it safe most of the time, and, tbh, won everytime she was project manager.
General Smuts Posted 8 June 2009 Posted 8 June 2009 I can see big things ahead of her I hope those big things you're talking about are my balls.

I don't understand this robotic notion, just to see the run back through the series, Yasmina was miserable looking with a hang dog face all the while whilst Kate was continually showing her emotions when it was appropriate to do so and could be seen laughing, jigging and excited at winning various phases.
Brainy Posted 17 May 2010 Posted 17 May 2010 Anybody watch Junior Apprentice? Just watched it on iPlayer as the City game was on last Wednesday. Comical to see the favourite go in the first week Always looked a miserable bastard though, Reece isn't much better.
