I know what you sayin but we would still be able to have the same things if there was no money. Everything we make and grow isn't here because of money. Say if we had no money, we could all still work for credits and you choose what you want to trade them in for. All the metals. plastics etc. would still be able to be produced as long as we all worked.

The reason money was invented was to make sure some people are kept above others. It doesn't cost anything to make or invent any technology, it just takes labour and brains

Huh?

Money is just a medium of exchange as you say in the first paragraph. Not sure what you mean by the second paragraph.

I just talkin about the interest banking system which was created to keep a certain few in complete power. Which is fair enough cos they thought of it first. All I'm saying is there's no need for it. We could still have all we have without it. Plus there wouldn't be any poverty or starvation that way because there is plenty for everyone. The problem is that the worlds wealth is shared out very unequally in the system the world has now.

Money doesn't create anything, human effort does. That's free when all is said and done

Money is merely a credit just as you suggest. Human effort is not free, anything not directly feeding / clothing / housing those making said effort has to be somehow rewarded in terms of food / clothes / housing. You could argue that a system of bartering is good enough, but we moved on from that a very long time ago, so evidence sugggests otherwise. I use the most basic of eaxmples, but without the ability to exchange credits (money) earnt in what we can do for things we cannot, the world simply doesn't work.

Yes we moved on, but look what happened. The wealth went into a small portion of hands and stayed there. I wouldn't suggest changing anything apart from the way the credit thing works. All the industries we need would still be there, only the spoils would be shared out more fairly I think

Protestor's are Cunts!

lol Well one day you won't have to put up with them, don't worry. It will be outlawed soon and you can live happily ever after :D

I aint got a clue. Was just responding to that point about money. Just saying it isn't necessary to keep the world turning. Everything is here for us and we could still have our tv's and all other luxuries without money. If there was no money we would still have scientists and inventors and food would still grow from the earth.

Good - next time they decide to block the entrance to my office I hope the police are a bit more severe with them. Fcking hippies blocking a public highway and drawing flowers on the road.

lol lol Go go Rozzers.

I love that there's pretty much 0 signs of police brutality there at all. If this was somewhere in mainland Europe or the States there'd be battons, pepper spray and tear gas all over the place and a hell of a lot more shields to the face and midsection.

I concede I'm currently only 3/4 of the way through the video but I'd say that's pretty well handled to be fair!

And all of that emotive "UNPROVOKED ATTACK!" stuff is stupid. They don't need to be "provoked" they just need to receive the order, that's their job.

I appreciate police brutality exists and I disagree with the hero worship of policemen, soldiers and the like - but I also can't stand cop-bashing purely for the sakes of looking cool. This isn't the 1980s, they arent' a bunch of squadies drafted in and given blue uniforms to shit-kick everyone who dares oppose the government.

Am I missing something here? Without money I could still have food and a tv?

Now, I know I could grow the basics to keep me going. But how do I go about getting a tv without money? Are you suggesting that we go back to the days of, I'm a farmer, Fez is a black smith, Lisa makes clothing, Daggers makes flat screen tv's etc etc... we all meet up at the market come the weekend and trade our goods?

Daggers... how many ears of corn would you like for a 42" LCD (Hi Def of course)??

Correct Finners. I was watching from a very good view yesterday about 50 yards from where that was filmed and there was no police brutality there, they just let the protest carry on but made sure it was in a controlled area. The police have to use those rush tactics to gain ground and hold it. I have no sympathy for anyone who got injured yesterday other than maybe the police.

He's suggesting Anarchy. It's a fantastic system in principal but it's utterly unrealistic without global catastrophe.

The common misconception is that Anarchy means no rules, no order and utter chaos - this is completely wrong and is just narrow-minded dogma distributed by the right. The concept of Anarchy is really not much different to pre-Feudal society.

Independent communities "led" by it's elders and doing trade internally for services. The doctor does his job and in turn the baker gives him bread, the brewer gives him beer and the builder builds his house. There's no reason, in theory, this couldn't continue on a wider scale. Community X cannot produce cars but it can produce computers so it gives it's computers to community Y who in turn send cars back.

"Value" has no meaning because everyone accepts the need and want for every resource so every resource is traded for every other. There is no crime because everybody has the same as everybody else.

It's an amazingly brilliant yet simple idea.. in theory. In reallity it completely ignores thousands of years of human nature. Ambition, greed, inherent violence and God knows what else. It's idealism, it's naive and it's pretty much impossible.
