Bert Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Nobs. Corrupt wankers. Nothing major happened all day, so they decided to kick off at the train station.

Its alright mate , only 15 coppers dealing with 4 blokes , then another 20 down the stairs then 9 cars containing another 20 or so turn up with a dog unit and 2 riot vans , not sure i can find the words to explain my anger if im honest

The copper with the beard was the biggest cunt. One of my mates got arrested, Old boy, mid 40's, wouldn't hurt a fly. I just can't believe they made something so big out of something so little. No-one had caused any trouble at all, the coppers just wanted to make themselves known.
C-man Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Absolute joke. I didn't hang around 'cos my bus was right there, but the amount of them was unbelievable. Completely pointless. I lol'd when one of them dropped his baton, silly plod.

They are pretty much the exact words I said to Pal and Nidge after I got off the phone from you. I take it they have let him out now?

I imagine they'll have kept him in for a good 2-4 hours, then he'll have just gone straight home. I'm sure when he was in 'cuffs he was saying "you're only doing this 'cos of the postal strikes last year"

Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Nobs. Corrupt wankers. Nothing major happened all day, so they decided to kick off at the train station. They pissed me off big time, I'd said goodbye to my mate and was about to head back to newark, just strolling along and one of the coppers asks me where i was going, I said Newark, "he said oh yeah mate what times the next train then?" Me "I don't know I'm gonna go and look on the board" Copper "Pull the other you can wait for the convoy behind you"(police taking everyone along in tandem behind me) Only when I got my ticket out and showed him would he let me through and bear in mind I was on my own and I'm not a particularly aggresive person. It was pathetic.
Katy Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Oh God, really? They were fine before the game. What on earth made them want to kick off afterwards? Glad I stayed behind now and got the 7.31 back to Grantham.
Bert Posted 28 March 2009 Author Posted 28 March 2009 To be fair, there was a lot of drunk people on the train, who were being rowdy at best. But no-one was doing anything for the coppers to re-act in the way that they did. The coppers were looking for it on the train back all the way home though. The copper that arrested my mate had already made a note on him on the train, I seen him do that in his little notebook. I believe because the day went without any major hiccups, the coppers wanted to make something happen. Something kicked off on Sparky's carriage with a copper which he was pissed off about, which he'll probably be able to tell you more on.
Fosse Boy Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 The only Police incident I witnessed all day (other than the escort to the ground) was at Leicester station on the way home, when a policeman kicked a man to the ground. The guy on the ground seemed to be a bit of an aggro drunkard but I certainly feel that unnecessary force was used on him, and when people started to question the police methods four or five of them whipped out the batons.
Corky Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I'm glad I missed out on all this, my journey to and from Peterborough was fine and the police presence in the city and at the ground was good. As Bert says, sometimes they look for trouble, so they have something to do. And some of the policewomen in Peterborough were very fine looking I thought

Alf Bentley Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Our police in this country are alright compared to some other countries... Just so long as you understand the main qualities required of a police officer: - Maximum stupidity, beyond anything you'd believe possible - Idleness that wouldn't be accepted in any other occupation - Brainless conformism - Occasional arbitrary, spiteful vindictiveness, when they're not feeling too idle Once you understand them, you'll get on alright with them!
JakeShingler Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 There were a few coppers on the train on the way back making notes of ppl then the train stopped and they grabbed a few blokes and wunt tell um why so they were going mad 1 an off the other was arrested.
potter3 Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Absolute joke. I didn't hang around 'cos my bus was right there, but the amount of them was unbelievable. Completely pointless. I lol'd when one of them dropped his baton, silly plod. I was outside the station when all the car/vans pulled up, one started running and his belt just fell off, half the stuff fell out The only Police incident I witnessed all day (other than the escort to the ground) was at Leicester station on the way home, when a policeman kicked a man to the ground. The guy on the ground seemed to be a bit of an aggro drunkard but I certainly feel that unnecessary force was used on him, and when people started to question the police methods four or five of them whipped out the batons. Yeah saw that too, didn't stay around once they got their batons out
Daggers Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Anyone thinking the police were bad should have seen the queue at the bar in that pub on the water after the game. Now that was unfair...
demon_dog Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Thought you should all know by now. Over the last 10 - 15 years we have become more and more of a police state. (I wonder why) We the people cannot question them or their actions. They have the god given right to do as they please. They are the only people who have human rights, because the rest of us are sub-human.
Simi Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 I just can't believe they made something so big out of something so little. Sadly, I can. They are thugs dressed up in bright protective gear, it's so easy for them to get away with it as well. Police at football matches come with a completely different attitude to that of the average Policeman. People are right when they say they were gutted that nothing went off. The way in which they behave is disgusting, as is the way they abuse their power.
Thracian Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 I believe because the day went without any major hiccups, the coppers wanted to make something happen. Something kicked off on Sparky's carriage with a copper which he was pissed off about, which he'll probably be able to tell you more on. That's down to the overtime situation. If nothing happens there might be fewer police required in future. They have a vested interest in seeing that something happens. There's a huge contrast in the approach of different officers. Some just maintain a presence and stay neutral, others are quite engaging and cheerful while a few fix people in the face, keep a hand on their batons and are clearly just itching for a chance to lay into someone like at Derby last time we went.
Ross-Kemp Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 The police was alright all day IMO, except the incident at Leicester station, the police that escorted to the ground were quite sound, had a laugh and a joke along the way, the police in and around the ground were quite helpful, more so than the fooking jobsworth bastard stewards. It was the BTP (British Transport Police) who was on the train on the way back, and they have always been ****s, all it was on the train, few of the older heads at the bottom of the train (My father included) was making a little bit of noise and when the police went down to them to moan, me and the lads i was with started doing it, so we had the police running up and down the carraige which was quite hillarious. When we got off the train, they tryed to keep us all on the platform, which inevitably would have caused more trouble But as we left, a few of the older heads off our train were pinpointed by the police, and in all fairness, they didn't do fook all wrong. Stupid fooking government.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of the police at the station yesterday. One bloke who was drunk but causing absolutely no problems was grabbed by two coppers, pushed into a wall then thrown away. And I do mean thrown. Completely unnecessary, far too heavy handed and they should save that for when there's a threat of real trouble.
Sparky Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Police outside the drapers wouldnt let me go bookies , apparently its not a free country on matchdays
