Shearer appointed Newcastle manager

And it's good news because the wee jawbreaking dwarf chelsea fan cheating ex millwall manager has parted company company with the club, presumably on Shearer's say so...

Glad that little s**t has gone (wonder what the payoff is) but now he has I need to decide whether I still want Newcastle to go down.

Just noticed that Dowie is his assistant.

As much as I may draw mockery for this, I actually think that gives them a slightly improved survival chance. Better him than Kinear or Shearer, to be honest. Wouldn't really be surprised if Shearer was nothing more than a passenger and an over-glorified motivator for the rest of the season.

Iain Dowie kills it, he's awful.

Should have brought someone better than that in as his number two.

As soon as Leicester have promotion wrapped up & the Emirates is guarenteed Champions League football next season, I become apart of the 'Toon Army' for a few games.

I seriously hope we play them next season now.

What happened to Shearer not wanting to work with Ashton?

Maybe he's just found out that his contract with the beeb isn't being renewed next year!

Your family has got everything aint it mate. Parking industry connections, Shearer connections. Just going down for your fish finger must be like getting tickled by Tommy Cooper.

My views entirely.

Joey Barton's a superstar?

lol

I would of answered this post with abit of respect if it wasnt coming from someone who thinks Earnshaw is a good player.

There is only one good player at Newcastle at that is JONAS !!

Decent enough but I dont see why the management at Newcastle play him on the left when he cant seem to put a ball into the box with his left foot.

They have enough quality in the squad to stay up with ease.

If that happens, I can't see Shearer giving up the job for Kinnear to come back. The geordies would go mad (again..)

Chelsea are a quality side. Any Newcastle manager would have struggled to get a result against them.

The real crunch clash is at Stoke next week. Lose that, and the toon will really start to get twitchy.

Sunderland aren't doing too well right now, and their next game is against Manyoo.

How ironic would it be if they saved Shearer's ass?

Time will tell but Shearer didn't look like a man with answers to me.

You really think Shearer is having much say on the team?

I don't. Looks to me like Dowie has been bought in to manage and Shearer is there to act as a cover up to all the fans.

That's quite plausible.

The geordies wouldn't have accepted Dowie as manager, so bringing him as an "assistant" to Shearer would make sense from Ashley's point of view.

His recent track record at Cov and QPR isn't too inspiring, though..

They could hardly bring in someone with a better "rep" so to speak than Shearer else it would have looked bad having them work underneath him.
