Maybes Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Carlisle point of view here. I thought we were worthy of a point, we battled hard and our wingers caused you problems all afternoon. That said it still took an unusually great performance from our keeper to stay in the game.I enjoyed my first ever trip to Leicester, some good banter with your fans in the ground and pubs. Oh, and you'll definately go up, most sides that open up a decent points lead in a league end up stuttering home, but you'll win when you need to. Could of done with it yesterday. Very squeaky bum time now. I thought Carlisle wern't a bad outfit tbh. At least they came to the walkers and attacked us unlike a very long list of other teams who just sit back and defend. On your fans....fair play to them must have been 1200 or so. I thought you would only bring about 600/700 (about standard for this league)
Frenzied Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Ajbdarevic wanted noticed which is a good sign, we need someone who is capable of creating things and at the minute we dont have anyone doing that so hopefully he will fit that role. What worried me yesterday was the lack of communication, no-one seemed to be talking to each other even when the defence got skinned afew times. I cant see any player who is capable of changing the game. Some of the spirit we had earlier in the season seems to have gone, and there seems to be a lack of confidence. Im sure against Hereford they will be up for the game, they normally look better away from home. I think Leicester have done excellent this season, and deserve to go up but there are worrying signs recently. I think you're right concerning lack of communication. Especially at the back, several times we didn't close down and the marking was suspect on several occasions. It's difficult to know who's to blame for that. As for confidence, we certainly seem to be panicking. Even though I thought King had a good game, after we got the second he panicked and hoofed the ball forward on more than one occasion. If we'd kept cool heads and played posession football (as we usually do) for the last five minutes, they would not have equalised. Panic breeds mistakes, breeds not winning, breeds falling confidence. We need a win next week.
lou Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I'd like to hear the conversation King had with Mattock just after we went 2-1 up. Cause every time King had it after that he just booted the ball back to their defenders, the second time resulting in Carlisle equalising. Spot on... I was very angry at King after the game for needlessly giving away possession several times after we scored our 2nd goal when all we had to do was keep it. I suppose hes young but should still know better. I did think we played a little better than we have recently though and their keeper was on fire! Im trying very hard to be positive but am getting increasingly anxious about our current form and the good form of the teams below us. Id love to go up as Champions but would happily take 2nd right now. I bet the bookies that paid out on us already are beginning to wonder if theyve done the right thing! By the way why does it say " Ian Marshall" under my name? Id like to point out at this stage I look nothing like Ian Marshall
Daggers Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I thought Carlisle wern't a bad outfit tbh. They weren't the down-on-their-luck/9-men-injured side I was expecting...must have made for a nice day out for all the part-time travelling Cumbrians.

After 1'000 you get to pick your own status line.
spirefox Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Positives from yesterday:- 1.Dyer played his best game since Christmas and Gradel was lively again 2.We scored two quality goals from open play 3.Fryatt scored and Howard looked better for his rest 4.We came from behind and got into what should have been a winning position. 5.Ajdarevic showed enough to give hope we've found a midfield playmaker so Oakley can play wide. 6.If we keep drawing Millwall have got to keep winning to catch us. Negatives:- 1.Tony(David James)Warner's headless chicken antics. 2.Kisnorbo AND Brown being outjumped by Dobie for the equaliser. 3.King spoiling such an effective performance by conceding possession so cheaply in injury time. Whilst I was absolutely gutted after the match especially after hearing the other results,I think we could now be on the way back to form in the nick of time. Going to Hereford on Saturday in second place and with Millwall only four points behind us is probably on the cards and I think we'll respond with a win.
Number 6 Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Gutting to have thrown the 2 points away. Our form is just not good enough. At the beginning of the season most of us would have happily taken second. However a second place finish may seem a disappointing end to the season at the moment (although with current form I would happily take 2nd). I am bit cheesed off with the team at the moment, just feel it shows a lack of professionalism as we should have finished the job off. Even if we scrape 2nd now I will be not too optimistic about next season.
Linekaaaah Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 To be honest I don't think it's quite as bad as people think. We're still top, even though we've let a massive lead at the top drop to a mere 2 points, and we've got some tricky fixtures ahead, we're still relying on the teams below us to win, which, let's face it, they won't, not all of them. The Carlisle game wasn't actually that bad (not that I watched it - Cornwall to Leicester is a hell of a journey heh) despite the fact that we've drawn far too many at home already. 'Boro's late winner didn't help either. The comments about us crawling over the finishing line seem to be pretty accurate. Personally I think we'll beat Hereford easily, and tbh the only game that worries me now is against Leeds. So we've hit a blip, and our lead has dropped. So what. This is Leicester ffs, it happens. Regularly. We'll still go up. Note: The content and colour of this post may change drastically should we get royally ****ed by Hereford on Saturday...
JakeShingler Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Ran from the Raj, we heard you ran from the Raj ey?
carterfox90 Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 the hereford game is critical if we dont win it i fear our season will be over as we all said we had to beat carlisle we did'nt if we only need 2 wins then we must beat crewe & hereford as i fear leeds will come & thump us one the way we are playing at home it would have been great to be promoted by the time they came to us fecking hate leeds
carterfox90 Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 trying very hard to keep the faith ...........but when your a city fan the team can frustrate us all the time !!!!
suffolk fox Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 For gords sake folks talk about pesimissm and doom and gloom!!!!! Comments like Leeds will thump us etc etc make me laugth!!!!!! We may have drawn loads of games especially at home however, Leeds will not thump us!!!!!!! We have only lost 1 game all season at home. Leeds ain't that good! We will be well up for this one I can assure you. The other thing people should be wary off on this forum as I found this out from a mate yesterday. A lot of supporters who write on this forum every week are not Leicester fans at all but fans of our rival clubs i.e. Leeds, Florist, Derby, Cov etc etc. They don't support City at all. There the ones who are suggesting we will lose to Leeds 3 -1 or get thumped for example. There is no way at home we will get thumped by Leeds at home!!! fact!!! I have supported City for nigh on 40years and we always play better against the so called bigger sides. We will get a result both against Leeds and S****horpe at home and yes we will get promoted!!! Rant over.

Rant over. Could you please elaborate on that? I don't get that one part. On the contrary, the majority on here does indeed follow LCFC a 100 percent. And the few ones that act as wind-ups are pretty much negligible. I do know of a few Leeds fans who have shown up here in the past few weeks, but they're not disguising themselves as Leicester supporters. Other than that, welcome to Foxestalk and keep on posting! We all share your passion, it's just that our recent form has not been the best and it feels like we're limping over the finishing line. Hereford, albeit down in the league table, much like Carlisle won't be a walk in the park - unless Pearson's Blue Army steps up big time and helps forget the lack of dedication and concentration they've shown on Saturday. As for Leeds - the current form suggests otherwise and I'm well aware of the possibility that we might lose for the second time at home this season. Which would not only be a shame, but... a possibility. I do hope though that the team will turn it around comes this weekend.

Yes i know, i couldnt believe King, he just hoofed the ball away and lost possession twice after they scored, when he shouldve tried to keep the ball and it put us under pressure and as a result they scored. I think with a win the confidence will come back. I dont think it has helped with the keeper changing soo many times this season, and i think Morrison should be playing at the back with Hobbs as they were doing a decent job, so i dont understand why Pearson changed it. Its great to be top of the league tho and a win on Sat will be what everyone needs
ozleicester Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Having only just seen the goals (thank you davieG), I havent seen too much comment on the keepers performance. From the little shown, both appear to be keeper errors, (granted the marking wasnt particualrly tight) whats the future of our keepers this season...do we have one that can keep a clean sheet again this year?
carterfox90 Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 reply to suffolk fox i have been a city season ticket holder for 28 years now i just get fed up with the way the team make us fans sweat all the time but i guess that is what makes our club what it is as for fecking l@@ds i hate them with real vengeance but they are on a good run at the moment they are the last team i want to go up with us
The Doctor Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Pissed off as usually when Leicester ****s up in overtime.... Fed up with crap refs making shite key decisions against Leicester.... Pissed off that we are blowing the biggest league lead ever... Just frustrated....God must really hate us........ Nah god don't hate us but only cus he don't exist, the FA and FIFA are the problem, the FA assigns the shit refs to wat ever league we are in and FIFA piss about with the offside rule so much that not even they understand it anymore which means the refs can't make a correct desicion about offsides which meant we had goals disallowed in several matches last season and all of those matches we either drew or lost by one goal, that means that if just one goal had been allowed then the relegation zone would have looked like this. 21st City 53pts/55pts GD -2 22nd Cov 53pts GD - 12 23rdS***thorpe 46pts/45pts GD - 23/-24 (kisnorbos header at theirs disallowed) 24th Colchester 38pts/37pts GD -24/-25/-26/-27 (Hayles hat trick at ours)
Cobbo Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Ah I have not posted in this. But having watched the extended highlights, it's reminded me how good their keeper was. Another day we score 5. Heads up we won't have an inspired keeper like that every week.....will we?

Heads up we won't have an inspired keeper like that every week.....will we? 'Tis true. He was in the L1 team of the week in the Mirror I think. I did think that we'd just have one of those games where we found the opposition keeper in great form after his first few saves.... just our luck
carterfox90 Posted 7 April 2009 Posted 7 April 2009 apparently the game before ours he had a right mare of a game ...........typical
