Ultra Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 The Oldham game could have been a blip. The fact it became something far more serious tells us plenty about the lack of leadership at the club both on and off the field.
maddog Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Edworthy Hes the only other recognised right back at the club. He must be turning up for training

I know where we are going!...the play offs.....hope to hell we make it back to the championship
MC Prussian Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 With our current form, we'll hardly make promotion, even less a playoff final. This club has a weird tendency of strangling me, kissing me, putting me in a rollercoaster, dressed in nothing but a strait jacket and then giving me the boot and a candy at the end of the ride.
clazkel Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I think Kisnorbo is a decent player but Hobbs and Morrison were doing a good job so why change it, and its ridicuolus that Morrison wasnt even on the bench (maybe he was injured tho). I dont understand why gradel was subbed, he was our only threat on the pitch. I know Nicky Adams hasnt proven himself but i think if he was given proper chance he will be the creative midfielder we need. We need some one with confidence to run with the ball like Davies and Cleverly did. We dont seem to have anyone who can change a game, even tho i think Oakley tried today, but his set pieces were again quite poor today.
Daggers Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Cut out the cheap sexism. So gay. You need to do something about that red "top" you were wearing today. You know you want one.
Bert Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 You know you want one. Call me sometime around November the 5th.
martyn Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 What worries me is that we were generally ineffective against a team in freefall with 9, NINE players out through injury. We put 2 or 3 lovely pieces of interplay together which yielded 2 goals yet the rest of the time we resorted to hoofs up to Howard...will the penny ever drop? Mattock needs replacing asap as well.
5waller5 Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Personally I think we were unlucky today. OK, we aren't dominating games anymore and we have hit a poor patch of form .... but their keeper won't play better for a long time, the ref won't make as bad a decision as the handball for the equaliser (and Thrac - you say he consistently didn't give accidental handball??? What about against Fryatt - volleyed into him from about a foot away ... I've never seen a more ridiculous decision - he could not have possibly moved out of the way even if he was steve austin!!), i also thought we had 3 weak shouts for a penalty which on another day may have resulted in at least one. I thought we could have won that game 6-0 quite easily if the chances went our way and their keeper didn't have such a crazy day. And talking of crazy keepers - thank goodness Warner is on loan and stockdale / Insert any other keepers name.. is about to replace him - he is a decent keeper with the mad streak that makes him think that running past a centre half and making the tackle himself is a good idea - he cost us the first goal and he did his best to do it again .... he hasn't got the discipline needed to be a good keeper, he played like you'd expect someone to in training - not the real game. And finally .... for those of you that think we are heading for the play offs - I'll take anyone's money on a bet that we get automatic - we are effectively 8 points clear of millwall with 5 games left - we need one more point from those games and we're promoted - millwall will not get more than 9 points. Obviously this is tight - and i'd rather us have the title in the bag - but it's ridiculous to assume that every team will win every game when you are doing your maths - and whilst assuming we won't!! We definitely have the jitters - and we miss Davis / Cleverley's flair and drive - so our performances may have to be a bit more workmanlike to cross the line .... but cross the line we will ..... keep the faith!

Frenzied Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I've not felt this pissed off since after the away game at Brighton. However, if it wasn't for their keeper we'd have won by a cricket score. How he saved Fryatt's header and Oakley's top-corner bound bullet I don't know. Both of our goals were excellent. Was a definite handball for their second and we had two good calls for penalties. I thought the standard of refereeing in the Championship was bad but this league just takes the piss. Carlise though weren't a bad side and battled well. Although their number 3 should have been sent off for so blatantly cheating (yet more shit refereeing). Liked the look of Ajdarevic. Although 20 minutes isn't necessarily enough time to judge a player, he seems to want to play the ball on the ground and pick it up from the back - just what we need.
OopNorthOne Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 robbed by the ref again, booooo!!! I can't believe you people. Pre-match you were all "this will be 5-0 but I'll settle for 4". Post match you're doing the awful "oh we would have won but the ref robbed us". You sound like a bunch of Conference supporters desperate for an excuse. Carlisle were unlucky not to take all 3 points.
Edmund Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Left at Ht awfull So you payed all that money and missed 3 goals
JakeShingler Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 So you payed all that money and missed 3 goals Yep and paid even more in the pub.
Daggers Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Left at Ht awfull Ran from the Raj, we heard you ran from the Raj

Ajbdarevic wanted noticed which is a good sign, we need someone who is capable of creating things and at the minute we dont have anyone doing that so hopefully he will fit that role. What worried me yesterday was the lack of communication, no-one seemed to be talking to each other even when the defence got skinned afew times. I cant see any player who is capable of changing the game. Some of the spirit we had earlier in the season seems to have gone, and there seems to be a lack of confidence. Im sure against Hereford they will be up for the game, they normally look better away from home. I think Leicester have done excellent this season, and deserve to go up but there are worrying signs recently.

Ultra: 'Cut out the blasphemy' Me: 'Fooking poof' Ultra: 'Stop being so homophobic' Thank you
skinnydipper Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Anyone else notice Pearson giving the lino some tough love. One minute shouting at him and the next standing with his arm around his waist
Tilley Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 We've bottled the league, we've bottled the leaaguuuee.. We're Leicester City, we've bottled the league..
davieG Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Everyone in the game says you need old heads/experience when the going gets tough. Yesterday proves that experience gets you no more than inexperience - what you need is good intelligent players. With Kisnorbo and Warner in defence, Oakley, the Captain in midfield and Howard up front we concede in extra time what happened to all that experience?
C-man Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 We've bottled the league, we've bottled the leaaguuuee.. We're Leicester City, we've bottled the league.. Who's top?
DB11 Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 And what do you suggest we should have done about it today?Kisnorbo at right back (pace).
Pulpster Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Carlisle point of view here. I thought we were worthy of a point, we battled hard and our wingers caused you problems all afternoon. That said it still took an unusually great performance from our keeper to stay in the game. I enjoyed my first ever trip to Leicester, some good banter with your fans in the ground and pubs. Oh, and you'll definately go up, most sides that open up a decent points lead in a league end up stuttering home, but you'll win when you need to.
