Pegosteve Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I would argue that's a fault with our fans (or the vast majority) We wait for the team to give us something before we back them. That's not how it works for me. Supporting your team is unconditional and 100% all the time. When the team are NOT performing is when they need the support the most. Otherwise you get into a downward spiral (team don't perfom so crowd don't support = team playing worse and crowd giving even less support = (and you get the picture.))People will say "it's just like last season - no confidence - just the same", but answer me this, anyone who says that... who are the same as last season? New manger, 70% new players, new backroom staff... oh wait! Same old fans! Not calling you Lib, but I know there will be some saying stuff like this and I'm pre-empting them! <_< Tend to agree and our home form particularly since we moved to the Walkers to certain extent proves this. QUite glad that 3 of our games left are away from home where we generally perform better
Ozwin Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 What happened with their last goal? Sounded like a right kerfuffle.
Pegosteve Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 What happened with their last goal? Sounded like a right kerfuffle. According to Stringer, blatent handball ref put whistle to mouth we stopped playing then he waved paly on and from the cross they equalised 2 and half mins into injury time. Not good.
Joe. Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Bit of an odd match really. Definitely two poitns dropped, although a draw on balance was perhaps a fair result. Both teams had chances to win it, and we probabyl would have done if their keeper wasn't in such good form. We were fairly terrible in the first half, a very well taken goal from Bridges (but what the hell happened to Hobbs?!) to give them the lead. However, we could have had a couple ourselves with their keeper pulling out at least 3 top drawer saves. We started the second half better and got the early goal which was nice, but we didn't really kick on until about the 75th minute again. The stats will show a lot of corners on our part, but there wasn't a great deal to show for it. Finally the goal goes in and it should have been three points in the bag. Or not. Carlisle fans were good today from what I saw and heard, surprised at how many they brought along with them. Good luck to them in staying up.
Pegosteve Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Millwall`s run in Yeovil A Posh H Bristol Rovers A Orient H Carlisle A They will drop points. Lets hope our points don`t run out before the games do. Essentially they need to make up 8 points (7 is no good to them) in 5 games its a massive task.
sir_bob Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 TBH I dont care about winning this mickey mouse league I just want to get out of it. Yeah right.
Bert Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 We were denied 3 points by the ref and a pretty good goalkeeping display today. Two silly mistakes cost us two goals. Warner could've done better with their equaliser. We should've won, but we didn't, there's nothing more we can do about it now really. We'll beat hereford, and we'll still go up. As long as we get out of this league, it doesn't really matter how we do it for me.

Asha Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Really disappointed with that lapse of concentration at the end. Like last year proved, silly mistakes and temporary loss of concentration can cost you as you miss out by a point. Could be the same this time if we don't start really getting our act together. This should have been the one banker out the 6, the one we had to win. We're really gonna make it hard for ourselves till the end of the season but crawl over the line at the death
Ford Super Sunday Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I've just put a long reply n another forum about today... I won't repeat myself but... Despite our dominance in the second half, we were not good enough today. We were being trampled on in the first half. Gutting to lose the goal in injury time, but Carlisle probably deserved a point, based on their first half performance. As has been said, we won't go up as champions now, and we don't deserve to after letting a big lead slip. And maybe I am the only one, but I am extremely worried about our promotion chances overall now. We will not win if we get to the play-offs, that is for certain. So we HAVE to go up in the top two. At the moment, with the way we are playing, that isnt gonna happen. We need to win one game to realy look secure.. but i don't see where that game is coming from. Hereford is out best chance. Leeds will walk over us, probably 3-0 or 3-1, Scunny will be extremely tough, and we wont beat southend or Crewe. Game over lads. Give me second, becuase its the best chance we have of going up now.
Bert Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Despite the result, was the the performance better than what we have seen in recent weeks? The second half yes.
Saladin Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Fvckin useless retards. If we cant even keep our concetration for the last 6 minutes then i cannot see how we deserve to go up as champions and the fact we've let a 13 point lead drop too, just ticks me off more :mad Pearson seriously needs to get his boot firmly up the players arses ffs.
Legend_in_blue Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I mentioned earlier the need to come out all guns blazing. After the first five minutes this clearly wasn't the case. In the first half we were woeful against woeful opposition. In the second half we put a move together which should have reflected our style of play right from the off but that, for all of 30 seconds, was as good as it got. We are resorting to long ball way too often and as each and every game now passes by, it's feeling more and more like last season. We'll win the next one, we fook it up, don't worry, we'll win the next one, we fook that and so on. I just want this season to end. You can call the ref this and that, whatever, end of the day we put ourselves in that position, constantly chasing a game, which we should have led from the off. Instead of controlling games, we are letting them pass us by, whislt hoping that teams around us won't catch us. Well, they will. Sheff Wed last season, Leeds Utd this season. I sincerely hope not, but I can see another fook up right round the corner.
Mark Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I'd like to hear the conversation King had with Mattock just after we went 2-1 up. Cause every time King had it after that he just booted the ball back to their defenders, the second time resulting in Carlisle equalising.
Pegosteve Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Despite the result, was the the performance better than what we have seen in recent weeks? From the radio it did sound as though we created lots of chances something we have failed to do recently, but an objective reply from someone who was at the game and who is not too pissed off would help.
CSKA SOFIA Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Sorry about your draw. I really want Leicester win League One. I'm looking at your fixtures and see that you have good program and you should win whole games to the end. Wish you luck!
Salieri Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Mark Davies came in and shook things up a bit when things were going a bit stale. He fooked off then we brought in Cleverley who had a similar impact. We've gone off the boil once again, it's hard to understand why essentially the same group of players who took the league by storm can produce the abject performances we've seen of late. Pressure, expectation, complacency? Who knows, but Pearson has a big task in waking these players up and making them realise we're a long way from finishing the job. I still fully expect us to be promoted, albeit at a crawl. I think Posh may pip us to the title but in the grand scheme of things, it matters little. 3 points will be ours at Hereford and the world will seem a better place once more!

Bet if Kavanagh had been in our midfield we would have closed this game out and all those others - Brighton, Swindon, Leeds, Hartlepool- had we closed them out we would have been celebrating promotion tonight. 2 problems I have with NP are that he should have got another decent striker in in January and we need a better controlling midfielder. Lets hope he doesn`t regret not doing this.
Maybes Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 We created alot of chances. Their keeper was on form. The ref had a Carlisle shirt on. That is all. I will be livid if we dont win the league.....12points clear and fook it up. Home stat: Drawn 6 out of the last 7.
Salieri Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Sorry about your draw. I really want Leicester win League One. I'm looking at your fixtures and see that you have good program and you should win whole games to the end. Wish you luck! Cheers pal, a bit of luck wouldn't go amiss!
Webbo Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I'd like to hear the conversation King had with Mattock just after we went 2-1 up. Cause every time King had it after that he just booted the ball back to their defenders, the second time resulting in Carlisle equalising. True. A real shame, I thought we deserved the win. 4 good saves from their keeper in the first half, on another day we'd have won by a cricket score. I didn't notice any handball for their equalizer . Warner scares the shit out of me.
Matt Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Pathetic. We're choking! Promotion is the priority but if we do throw top spot away I ain't gonna be happy, having said that why am I worrying about top spot? I should be worrying about promotion any how!
leftsideoverhere Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I didn't notice any handball for their equalizer . Then you're the only person in the Walkers who didn't. Even the ref saw it. Stopped. Put whistle in his mouth. Started running again, and waved play on. Warner scares the shit out of me. Yeah, me too. I wish he'd stay in the fooking goal. All this outfield crap is just terrifying.
