unreachable Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 If Millwall lose on Friday and we win at Hereford, a win against Leeds will guarantee promotion. Then we can support Millwall against Peterborough. Sorry but you are wrong. What about MK Dons????? MK Dons can achieve a maximum points total of 90 whereas 2 Leicester wins against Hereford and Leeds will give us 89 points.
PAULCFC Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 DOH!Sorry, did sound a bit too straight forward for us
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 The results we could do with over the easter weekend r southend 2 - 1 dons yeovil 1 - 2 milwall Hereford 1 - 2 city city 2 - 1 leeds milwall 1 - 2 peterboro dons 2 - 2 brizzle becus that would leave milwall 10 points behind us with 3 games left to play (note: the scorelines don't need to be like this just as long as the team winning in these wins in their actual match)
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This whole mathematical promotion race is doing my head in. this is over as quickly as possible. Maddog, what will you do with your time then?

The Doctor Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Why would you want Millwall to beat Yeovil and why a draw for MKDs, surely all defeats would be the requirement unless they're playing each other? well i would prefer defeats for them but these results seem more likely than milwall losing to yeovil and dons losing to brizzle
Guest Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This whole mathematical promotion race is doing my head in. this is over as quickly as possible. Maddog, what will you do with your time then? Spend the entire summer telling us that we should get rid of Howard presumably
James. Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 I daren't look at it directly. If I do, I'll have to kill myself. I'm totally sober yet when I look at your signature those heads start moving. I'm scared.
maddog Posted 8 April 2009 Author Posted 8 April 2009 This whole mathematical promotion race is doing my head in. this is over as quickly as possible. Maddog, what will you do with your time then? Work out all the options of finishing 1st in the Championship next season. Which ultimately will be whichever team gets the most points in 46 games
lou Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Typical! the one away game Ive had to miss for months and Im probably missing the promotion party!
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Spend the entire summer telling us that we should get rid of Howard presumably nah this year it will be tunchev maddog attempts to force out
Daggers Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 It'll all go down to the last game when an Alan Sheehan free kick will save Crewe from relegation and finally condemn Leicester to the runner-up spot. Not that I've ever been right about things like this. Well you certainly won't be right with this - Sheehan out for the rest of the season
Pegosteve Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Isn`t football a wonderful game? Who would have given Orient a chance last night 2 nil down and 10 men yet they came back for a draw. We can predict all we like (myself included) but fact is there will be some strange results over the next few weeks. We all think we will struggle for points and whilst thinking all around us will get win every game (that won`t happen), whatever is going to happen is going to happen not a lot we can do about it except live it! We will have our ups and downs, we will have our hereos and villans and it will probably be nerve tangling right till the end, but hey thats football thats why we love it so much and why we love our team so much. Now is the time to get behind the team being an exile I can only listen on the radio but the away support sounds just fantastic and seems to drive the team on, if only this could be replicated by 4 or 5 times as many people at the Walkers when the boys are giving their all in the last 2 home games. I`m confident we will prevail I`ve seen my share of ups and downs in the last 42 years, its time now to give the boys an extra boost and become the 12th man home and away to get us over the line. Long live football, City till I die!!!!!!!

davieG Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 well i would prefer defeats for them but these results seem more likely than milwall losing to yeovil and dons losing to brizzle That's true but you've posted it as results "we could do with" not results that are likely
unreachable Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Well you certainly won't be right with this - Sheehan out for the rest of the season That's good news for us - too many former players have come back to haunt us this season.
ThurmastonFox Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Quick question - can we get promoted against Leeds on Monday if results go our way this weekend?
maddog Posted 8 April 2009 Author Posted 8 April 2009 Quick question - can we get promoted against Leeds on Monday if results go our way this weekend? Yes
Legend_in_blue Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Quick question - can we get promoted against Leeds on Monday if results go our way this weekend? Yes, but dream on! That would be too perfect.
maddog Posted 10 April 2009 Author Posted 10 April 2009 Option 1 We MUST win our next 3 games, Hereford (A), Leeds (H), Southend (A) Then we will be promoted regardless of what all the other teams do. Option 2 We MUST WIN 2, DRAW 1 of our next 3 games. Mk Dons MUST drop 1 point in their next 4 games Southend (A), Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Millwall MUST drop 2 points in their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) NO OTHER TEAMS COULD CATCH US. Option 3 We MUST WIN 1, DRAW 2 of our next 3 games. Millwall MUST drop 4 points in their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 3 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) If that happened Leeds would drop at least 2 points as they play us so couldn't catch up. Scunny MUST DROP 1 point in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 4 We MUST DRAW 3 of our next 3 games. Millwall MUST drop 6 points in their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 5 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds would drop 2 points so couldn't catch up. Scunny MUST drop 3 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 5 We MUST DRAW 2, LOSE 1, of our next 3 games Millwall MUST drop 7 points in their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 6 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 3 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they beat us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) OR Leeds MUST drop 1 point in 2 of their next 3 games (if they draw to us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) Scunny MUST drop 4 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 6 We MUST DRAW 1, LOSE 2 of our next 3 games Millwall MUST drop 8 points in their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 7 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 4 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they beat us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) OR Leeds MUST drop 2 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they draw to us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) Scunny MUST drop 5 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 7 We MUST LOSE 3 of our next 3 games Millwall MUST LOSE all of their next 3 games Yeovil (A), P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 8 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 5 points in 2 of their next 3 games (as they would beat us) Scunny MUST drop 6 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Now updated after Mk Dons win at Southend. It could be a lot easier to read later. If Millwall win today then option 5, option 6, and option 7 will be impossible. So there will only be 4 options
Ford Super Sunday Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 I didn't think a new thread for what I wanted to say was worthy... Anyway; this time (15:15) on Monday, thats just 72 hours, I will be either elated becuase we have done enough to see ourselves all but, or actually up, or on the floor with depression after a miserable time. This IS the most crucial 72 hours of the season, and I do so hope the players realise this. 72 Hours of success, that is ALL I ask for. Please
daveyboy Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Millwall losing 2-0, Peteborough winning 1-0... As it stands, 8 points and we are up! Edited (forgot MK Franchise).
The Doctor Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Millwall losing 2-0, Peteborough winning 1-0...As it stands, 6 points and we are up! is that affected by any results after today other than our own (milwall v boro on monday perhaps)
mitchofox Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 is that affected by any results after today other than our own (milwall v boro on monday perhaps)boro drawing 1-1
daveyboy Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 is that affected by any results after today other than our own (milwall v boro on monday perhaps) Oops, just checked again. MK won, so it'd have to be 8 points i think... Sorry for the false hope.
