C-man Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 MK Dons can still get 90. Which means that unless they fail to beat Bristol Rovers on Monday, even if Yeovil hang on and we win our next two, we'll still have to wait till Southend.
Saladin Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 lovely jubbly...we can go 4 points clear if we win tommorow thanks to the boro' ****ing up..
fsdss Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Am I correct in thinking that if MK Dons drop points we we beat Leeds and Hereford we will be promoted?
daveyboy Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Am correct in thinking that if MK Dons drop points we we beat Leeds and Hereford we will be promoted? Yep!
daveyboy Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Come on City!!!Lets do it in style!!! To be promoted against Leeds is a dream! But we still have to beat Hereford and Leeds of which neither will be a walkover and even then its not in our hands!
Pegosteve Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Am I correct in thinking that if MK Dons drop points we we beat Leeds and Hereford we will be promoted? Not mathmatically, but if MK were to lose on Monday it would be almost certain. We just have to keep collecting points and get to whatever the target is (currently 91) ASAP Has anybody though we might already is up, it is concivable (though not likely) that 3rd place may still only get 82 points. Think I'm off to open the champagne!!
lcfc_jme Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 To be promoted against Leeds is a dream! But we still have to beat Hereford and Leeds of which neither will be a walkover and even then its not in our hands! Why? MUCH rather it be at Sarfend away.

Pegosteve Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 If we beat Hereford and Leeds and MK Dons lose later in the day IT IS CERTAIN Apologies you are right. In fact if we get the 6 points (89points) and they draw (they could only get 88) its certain, so many different scenarios it gets confusing.
leicesterseddon Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 so, put simply, we have played one game fewer than both peterborough and millwall - and are now 1 point ahead of boro and 7 ahead of millwall. a win against hereford will take us 4 points clear of boro and 10 points ( ) clear of millwall. meaning that if millwall lose or draw against peterborough on monday, and we win or draw against leeds, then millwall won't be able to catch us. the only sticking point is mk dons - if we win against hereford we'll go 11 points clear of them having played one game more. so if they win on monday (v.bristol rovers), then whatever our result is, automatic promotion won't be assured this monday. if they lose or even draw, then we'll go up automatically (provided the above results involving millwall and boro occur). the only thing is they kick off nearly an hour after we'll finish on monday, so although we can get promoted on monday, it won't be until after the leeds match in any case is that right?
Father Ted Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 To all City fans: It is NOT possible for us to get promotion by the end of the Leeds game but it IS possible for us to get promoted on the day if: MK Dons draw or lose at home to Bristol RoversMK's last 6 home matches: DDWLDW, Bristol Rovers last 6 away matches: WDWWDL (including beating Walsall 5-0 and Hereford 3-0) If we win both games and Millwall win against Peterborough we will still be up.

lou Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 All this is giving me a headache.......... someone just tell me when were safely promoted! Until then I'll keep worrying
maddog Posted 10 April 2009 Author Posted 10 April 2009 Option 1 We MUST win our next 3 games, Hereford (A), Leeds (H), Southend (A) Then we will be promoted regardless of what all the other teams do. Option 2 We MUST WIN 2, DRAW 1 of our next 3 games. Mk Dons MUST drop 1 point in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) NO OTHER TEAMS COULD CATCH US. Option 3 We MUST WIN 1, DRAW 2 of our next 3 games. Millwall MUST drop 1 point in their next 2 games P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 3 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) If that happened Leeds would drop at least 2 points as they play us so couldn't catch up. Scunny MUST DROP 1 point in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 4 We MUST DRAW 3 of our next 3 games. Millwall MUST drop 3 points in their next 2 games P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 5 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds would drop 2 points so couldn't catch up. Scunny MUST drop 3 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 5 We MUST DRAW 2, LOSE 1, of our next 3 games Millwall MUST drop 4 points in their next 2 games P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 6 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 3 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they beat us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) OR Leeds MUST drop 1 point in 2 of their next 3 games (if they draw to us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) Scunny MUST drop 4 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 6 We MUST DRAW 1, LOSE 2 of our next 3 games Millwall MUST drop 5 points in their next 2 games P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 7 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 4 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they beat us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) OR Leeds MUST drop 2 points in 2 of their next 3 games (if they draw to us) Stockport (H), Leicester (A), Tranmere (H) Scunny MUST drop 5 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Option 7 We MUST LOSE 3 of our next 3 games Millwall MUST LOSE all of their next 2 games P'Boro (H), Bristol Rovers (A) Mk Dons MUST drop 8 points in their next 3 games Bristol Rovers (H), Scunny (A), Walsall (H) Leeds MUST drop 5 points in 2 of their next 3 games (as they would beat us) Scunny MUST drop 6 points in their next 5 games Hudders (H), Hartlepool (A), Dons (H), Northampton (A), Leicester (A) Now updated after Mk Dons win at Southend. And Millwalls defeat. Promotion against Leeds Option 1 We MUST WIN our next 2 games Hereford (A), Leeds (H) Millwall couldn't catch us. Mk Dons MUST NOT WIN on Monday Bristol Rovers (H) Official promotion CANNOT be achieved in the Leeds game unless we WIN our next 2 games. IF we get 4 points from our next 2 games and Mk Dons lose Monday, the Dons would be 12 points behind us with a possible 12 still to get. WE MUST WIN OUR NEXT 2 GAMES TO STAND A CHANCE OF PROMOTION FROM THE LEEDS GAME
Ford Super Sunday Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 If we hadn't been so gash recently, we wouldn'y have had to see maddogs mathematical threads every week, being updated every day... Good work though, don't read it, too complicated and a worry fest... but good work nevertheless

Good work though, don't read it, too complicated and a worry fest... but good work nevertheless Only need to read the first line we need to win our next 3 games. Until that doesn't happen there's no point looking any further.
James. Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Only need to read the first line we need to win our next 3 games. Until that doesn't happen there's no point looking any further. Well surely we just need to win 2 games now for promotion.
maddog Posted 10 April 2009 Author Posted 10 April 2009 Well surely we just need to win 2 games now for promotion. Nope the Dons could still catch up
James. Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Nope the Dons could still catch up Ah yes, saw the Leeds points total when I thought it was MK Dons. Still, the 2 results today have been a godsend.
Legend_in_blue Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 We all know Maddog has been doing cartwheels all over Leicester since the final set of results came out today. Every result went against us last weekend pretty much and after today, it's set things up again quite nicely for tomorrow. The weekend has started already for me. From our point of view, three wins = league champions. 10 points clear tomorrow though with 4 to play - you'd take it.
