I know he gave away the penalty with a clumsy tackle, but i suppose you have conveniently forgot about his 50 yard cross-field pass to Gradel for the third goal?

To be fair hes been woeful for weeks........... one decent pass doesnt make up for it.

First of all, he's probably the most overrated player in the football league.

I think woeful is pretty strong, i didn't mention anything about his recent form.

But useless? He is capped at international under 21 level and he has a lot of potential.

Being capped for U21's does NOT give him the God given right to be in the 1st team when hes been shite for weeks.

We were rumoured to have been offered some pretty hefty bids for him last summer and yes, if we got a decent bid again, based upon on his form this season... I would get rid!

Even Tricky Trev played for the U21 side.

Just because he's a local lad, some people let this cloud their judgements. Base Mattock on his performances, not his supposed potential.

Thats fair enough Mark, Im just saying hes been poor for a while and I personally wouldnt be too bothered if someone came in with a decent bid. It seems that some people cant see past this "U21 International" bollocks and not allow anyone to critisize him. Hes very much over-rated IMO and based on this seasons form.

Thats not Mattocks fault that rumours of £3 Million plus valuations were being put on him.... I was merely pointing out that Id happily take such offers this Summer... doubt theyd come now anyway.
