Just been on the headlines. Must have been a mistake,:giggle:, surely :fc: .

EDIT: Just seen the interview and his words have been twisted. He was actually talking about the cost of last seasons relagation.

Mandaric's never spent anywhere near that on a football club - ever!icon6.gif

Do you you really think that even if he did he proclaim it publicly - nothing better to boost transfer cost

If true, I can see us going well next season.

There won't be many Championship clubs able to throw that sort of money around in a recession, and Pearson has proved himself to be canny in the transfer market. I imagine his first priority will be a raid on Southampton, would be pleased to see him bring in Surman or Saganowski from there.

If its a figure that isn't out of thin air (unlikely enough), then it is almost certainly a figure that includes wages, agent payments etc, which would take the glamour off it, I should think?

We have been through all of this before haven't we?... players wages are usually included in these budgets.

So in reality we'd probably have about £3m to spend max.

What ever the budget (and it's likley to be respectable) so long as Pearson shows the same judgement he has with the players he's brought to the club this season and Milian learns the lessons from the mistakes we made in the transfer market last season then we should have a balanced, capable side at the start of next season that placed to do well... overall I'd be optimisitic.

£10 million?

Yeah, after we sell Fryatt, King, Mattock and Howard - sure we'll have that kind of budget.

More seriously, if Mandy really really wants to keep his 3 year vision of city in the Prem going he'll need to spend that much... and more besides!

He could do a lot worse than spending half of that on the loan players who got us there this year. Gilbert and Hobbs were inspired and Cleverley would be worth a punt too.

He's obviously thinking about Cox for between 1.5-2m but as long as he saves some cash for another Mark Davies-type player, we'll do alright next season.

Haha because defensive midfielders that pick the ball up in deep midfield and run past players to start attacks are two a penny.

If we are going to be a top half Championship side we are going to be more than a little investment.

after the first season ticket deadline le hoos said we had already got 3million from renewals to go towards transfers

3 million can get u one or two decent championship quality players

hopefully make hobbs, gilbert's, stockdale's and Astrit Ajdarević loan deals permanent

AND WELL DONE LADS GREAT SEASON :chant:

Look forward to seeing who Pearson and his staff bring in close season.

If the signings are anything like they have been this season then we are in for a decent season.

i imagine the majority will be spent on wages....

southampton will be releasing players left right and centre... i imagine there will be plenty we can take our pick from.

I liked what Mandaric said about investing in players rather than spending on them - and can't help thinking that that's an idea Pearson's brought with him and convinced Mandaric of rather than visa versa.
