Filbert_Ross Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 did anyone read in the paper today what the Millwall fans travelling to the match have to do? they have 1000 tickets which go on sale on thursday, but when they get the 'tickets' they dont get given a ticket they get given a 'voucher' and on the day off the match they have to go to a service station on the M1 where they exchange the voucher for the match ticket and then they get a police escort straight into the ground. no risk taking there then. ha
syston_fox Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 To be honest with how much crap we had to go through when we went to the New Den, this serves them right!
lcfc_jme Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Regardless of the restrictions in place on both teams, it's going to kick off anyway, and there WILL be more away fans than 1,000 in both grounds. And as for the outcome, I hope MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL produce the goods.
Guest Bilo Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 No real surprise if true, Leeds - Millwall in the play-offs was always going to be a security headache to say the least. Some would say heavy-handed and disproportionate, I would say it's sensible. Still, best of luck to Millwall.
Maybes Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 As others have said MILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
Teeno Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 I'm sure there will be more Wall fans in Leeds not at the game than what they are at the game. Is a bit of a ball ache for those genuine fans but in Millwall's case it seems the majority of their support deserve to be treated the way they are.
Koke Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 All this will do is make Millwall fans buy tickets in the home end and Leeds fans will do the same at The Den. It just goes to show if our police force cannot handle a Division 3 game, then how the fuck can we host a World Cup. Imagine having a potential WC semi final or quarter final between Serbia and Croatia at Old Trafford. That'll be 10x worse than this. And the other thing is, Leeds used to host 3.000+ Man Utd fans (their biggest rivals) in the Premiership on regular basis so they cannot justify this ticket allocations given to Millwall.
J.Lisemore Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 To be honest with how much crap we had to go through when we went to the New Den, this serves them right! I agree.
CosbehFox Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 . Imagine having a potential WC semi final or quarter final between Serbia and Croatia at Old Trafford. That'll be 10x worse than this. Happened when Croatia played Turkey at City Ground, Euro 96. All of East Midland police stations had Croats and Turks in for the evening. Stupid move - firstly, the ticket allocations and secondarily, the football league and sky's kick-off times for the play-offs. League 2 play on Thursday and Sunday - what crap that is for the fans.
Matt Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Nah I think I want Leeds to beat Millwall and get to the final and lose - Again, Although wouldn't be bother if Leeds lost to Millwall. I'm overly bother who comes up with us.

Tommeh Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Leeds have the same 1,000 allocation for the game at the Den in the Upper tier.
Corky Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Millwall to win the semi-final, to be beaten by Scunthorpe in the final
dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I actually think that is a decent idea, although what is happening with those travelling by train?
Ultra Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 It's a night game. There may not be a train back to London from Leeds. Presumably any Wall fan wanting to go by train won't get a ticket. Leeds should be able to fill Elland Road with their own fans. I'm not sure Millwall will be able to do likewise at the den.
weluv Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 can't understand all you lot cheering millwall. You really want the most racist, violent and thuggish set of fans in Britain back in the same division as you? Never mind the smashed buses from their previous saturday afternoon visit to leeds. Never mind the turkish flags brought out every time they play us. Never mind this charming little ditty: Whose that in lying in the gutter whose that laying on the floor? it's a leeds fan on his back from another knife attack and he won't be marchin on no more We've got a lot of fans who're idiots and have done a lot of bad stuff in the past. but anyone supporting millwall over us needs their head examining.

Having said that, I want you to beat Millwall, only to lose - Again, in the final. Haha! Besides why are you here again Sooper, Sooper Steve, Sooper, Sooper Steve, Sooper, Sooper Steve, Sooper Steve Howard. Could watch it all day couldn't you?! How many times you watched it?

CosbehFox Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Since when do you think Sky gave a crap about the people who actually go to games? I am perfectly aware of Murdoch's attitude to football fans. My brother trying to get me to share Sky with him but my conscience is telling me no. Sky have always had the say-so in moving fixtures but a Thursday!! It's crazy Setanta scheduling esp. when you consider that only one of the games is being shown and the other is available via the red button. Why not just do Saturday and the following Wednesday like back in the day?
