bluebeau Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 We must be about the only modern decent sized football stadium in England that doesn't have a giant screen within the ground? Back when the Walkers was opened, I was surprised that there was no screen. So come on Milan, splash the cash & get one/two installed ready for next season.....please! Anyone agree?

Big screens don't generate much income unless you can fill the viewing time with adverts - do you really want to see more advertising? Simply not important in the scheme of things.
jimmer Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Who gives a toss about a tv......... Money better spent on getting to the promised land, spend on decent players........paying off a bit of the clubs debt might me higher on the list of things to do aswel.

So come on Milan, splash the cash & get one/two installed ready for next season.....please! Anyone agree? The original plans included a big screen but the financial 'troubles' meant we ended up with cheapo's!! For the same reason, we have paper towels in the bogs instead of hand dryers and the concourse walls are not plastered. In fact, with the amount of corners that were cut during the building of the stadium im amazed its still standing!!
Stuliasz Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Not fussed about a big screen - having two working scoreboards would be nice for starters.
Granno Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Not fussed about a big screen - having two working scoreboards would be nice for starters. Steward told me there were no funds this year to fix it.
jimmer Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Not fussed about a big screen - having two working scoreboards would be nice for starters. yes that is rather irritating! surely not an expensive fix!
Arthur Rowley Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 .So come on Milan, splash the cash & get one/two installed ready for next season.....please!Anyone agree? Never mind wasting money on a giant screens Milan. Put your money in Nigel's hands and let him use it to help bring in some Premier league players to bolster the squad for a tilt at returning back to the Premier division next season. Big screens won't get us there. Quality players will. Wolves have got there, and so can we. A city fan till I die. cheers AR
Gaffer Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Promise land, champions league, and if pearson does the washing up, im sure milan might get him a new sony CRT
Ei Ei Ei O Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 I prefer stadiums built for football, not matchday experiences.
Joe. Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 What benefits would a screen give? You can see the game on the pitch.
davieG Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 yes that is rather irritating! surely not an expensive fix! They probably have to hire some giant climbing frame/crane. I'd imagine they'll do it during the close season when they can also carry out any other planned high rise maintenance.
Webbo Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 It would be nice but, like others have said, we have better things to spend our money on at the moment.

Cherry picker would do the trick, drive it straight in. unless they had an abundance of problems cant see why they couldn't just fix it one day in the week. Realisticly cant see it costing more than £1500 (depending on cause of problem) Cherry picker hire - £150 Engineer time and call out - £200 Replacement cpu (maybe?) - £1000 and thats going way over! I mean even if it cost £2000 to repair thats hardly a pin drop in the ocean in footballing money. Lazyness me thinks

Lazyness me thinks Well £2K is still money they can't afford to waste and if they've got other requirements for it better to do it all at once. I doubt it's laziness in fact I really can't see that at all.

Lazyness me thinks Im pretty sure most football clubs are insured out there arses and this would be covered. In regards to the screens you would need two which will double the cost so all spectators can see it in the ground unless you just chuck it above the away fans.
