AjcW Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I just thought id see which game everyone thought technically won us the league, or had that significance to spur us on to our final success. I voted S****horpe Away.
Salieri Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Millwall for me. Think that was a brilliant win. Gotta agree with that. We'd only won 2 of the previous 8 prior to that and everyone was getting a bit twitchy. Huge result.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Gotta agree with that. We'd only won 2 of the previous 8 prior to that and everyone was getting a bit twitchy. Huge result. Peterborough 4-0. I can not believe that's not an option. Crushing a team that were 16 games unbeaten was the moment we showed that we were the business
Tommeh Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Scunny was the biggest result in my opinion, to win it late on, going top of the league and never looking back. Went for Millwall away though that was the game where I first though we were up, they were seriously challenging at the time and we were stuttering. Huge win.
AjcW Posted 8 May 2009 Author Posted 8 May 2009 If anyone wants to add "other" feel free, i dont know how to once its posted. sorry.
Filbert_Ross Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 maybe not won us the league but one that did me proud was Huddlesfield at home, they proper went at us and we showed so much character by going behind twice and not letting our heads drop and ended up putting 4 past them.

My favorite game of the season, so much more exciting than peterborough because it wasnt one sided.
Lamby Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 All of them. Without the points you wouldnt of finished 1st
Salieri Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 All of them.Without the points you wouldnt of finished 1st We coulda sacrificed a couple of wins and a draw and still won the league! Easy!
flanimal Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 All of them.Without the points you wouldnt of finished 1st Good point. I think though Leeds (H) gave us a psychological boost to finish the job. Had we lost that one, could've been a dodgy end.
CosbehFox Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 In the same way, I thought our goalless draw against Bristol City the previous season was a watershed in us getting relegated. It was the turn of luck only a relegated team could have. I said we'd won the league after our 1-0 win at Brizzle Rovers. It was the same luck which promoted sides get. That said wins at Scunny and Wall both symbolised our strength. Whilst the turnaround in four days over Easter was amazing and it all finally sunk in.
djedmundo Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Leeds!! i wasnt there but i think all the walkers in the welsh mountains knew Howard had scored

Fox You Forest Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Quite a few to chose from, still think Bristol Rovers away was a massive win being down to 10 men and Bunn saving the penalty.
Mr Happy Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I voted for Leeds being as that was the game where we knew we were almost back in the second tier of english football, when Howard's header hit the back of the net it felt so good not only to be a city fan but to also be there to witness this special moment maybe not won us the league but one that did me proud was Huddlesfield at home, they proper went at us and we showed so much character by going behind twice and not letting our heads drop and ended up putting 4 past them. What he said.
Uncle Albert Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 The 0-0 at home to Northampton gave City a right kick up the arse which was much needed made City in away realise what League One was all about. Leeds at home though was massive.
Craig Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I'd choose Hereford. We were really wobbling, the day before that we'd only just held on to 1st place thanks to our friends down at Cheltenham. We went 1-0 down and all the signs were there again, but we pulled a win out of the bag and we never looked back from there.
