Cobbo Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I just realised I have put hugh instead of huge. Goodness me. And I do believe that those stats are incorrect. Our unfinished thread of assists tells that story.
Maybes Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I just realised I have put hugh instead of huge.Goodness me. And I do believe that those stats are incorrect. Our unfinished thread of assists tells that story. The website I got them from seems to be floored or flawed...cant decide, or maybe neither. From LCFC Fryatt got 8 assists in the league. From STFC Cox got 4.
TrickyTrev Posted 11 May 2009 Posted 11 May 2009 I'm a fan of Fryatt, think he plays some smart stuff outside the box, but don't think he's an out and out forward. Think he'd be a great linker, like Teddy Sheringham was. Him and cox could work, but the lack of height would hurt us. The only problem with Howard and Fryatt is lack of speed, otherwise they are fine. Get off it. About the only comparison is they are both slow. Fryatt is skillful and has a great touch/close control he also makes good runs and finds space easily, but he plays with his face pointing towards the floor. He's got no clue what is going on around him!
foxoffderby Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Guys, I think there is room for Howard Cox Fryatt and another striker or two! There is no way Howard and Fryatt can/will play every game this season due to form, suspensions and injuries etc. For me Hayles and Dikov wont hack it next season. Look at fergie and how he rotates his strikers to get the best out of them at utd and it also keeps them hungry. If we look closer to home I was reading the the back page of the Derbytelegraph yesterday. It stated Clough is very happy with his FIVE strikers for next season and will trying to strenghen his defence in the summer. They've got Hulse, Psssh, Varney Davis and Commons who plays in the hole. Theyve bought Buxton a centre back this morning. In the championship we cant afford to become a one trick pony relying on Howard to knock it on for Fryatt. The scouts of other teams will figure it out trust me. We need another target man, somebody with pace and another in the Commons mould who's a got a trick or two and can play in the hole. Somebody like Brechio at Leeds for example. Im hopeing for good cup run next season as well as playing 46 league games and maybe the playoffs. Competition is healthy. If Fryatt and Howard have to be on the bench next season for a few games, so be it.
DanTheFox07 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 There is a new article on BBC Sport claiming we are the leading club in the running to sign cox, make of that what u will.
maddog Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...own/8040244.stm That Leicester bit must be BS, that article was on there before and they've just added the Leicester bit in
morris1234 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 this is why i hate the transfer periods, the tension and the waiting is so annoying! you never know who to believe though whether a rumour is genuine or every paper and website has just copied one story. arrrrrggh
maddog Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Millan CONFIRMS Cox interest. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/8048694.stm He may turn out to be gash in the Championship but either way this would be a fantastic signing. And if it gets Fryatt on the bench and Dickov totally out the squad then even better.
flanimal Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Just heard on the Midland News that Leicester hope to unveil Simon Cox as a signing over the next few days. Could this be more speculation, or is something actually happeneing?
Candidcamera Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 East Midlands Today say he is expected to sign in the next couple of days.
flanimal Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Must be pretty real for the television to say it. That's what I mean, I take most of the rumours as predominantly fiction, but the midland news only usually waste their air time wth real-ish material. Oh, and stories about buses not arriving on time, and elderly women having birthday parties. Important stuff, innit.
Mort Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If true... Please Please Please dont be Billy Sharpe MkII!
flanimal Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If they sign Cox, I hope they haven't paid something daft like £3m! I'd pay £1m, maybe £1.5m, but more than that for an unproven striker beyond League 1 is uncool.
flanimal Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 East Midlands Today say he is expected to sign in the next couple of days. Yeah, I heard that. Sounds like deal may actuallyy be happening...
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Top signing, I think he would be a fantastic signing for us if its true. Although I still wont be convinced untill it is actually on the OS
StanSP Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If they sign Cox, I hope they haven't paid something daft like £3m! I'd pay £1m, maybe £1.5m, but more than that for an unproven striker beyond League 1 is uncool. So Cox (probably?) and N'Guessan. Not bad!
maddog Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If true... Please Please Please dont be Billy Sharpe MkII! This. Surely not though looking at this goal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtM8Zh1DQzc Fooking stunning.
flanimal Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If Cox and N'Guessan are coming to Leicester, what kind of line up will that mean? Something like: StockdaleMorrison Tunchev Hobbs BernerGradel King Oakley N'GuessanFryattCox ????? Or do you leave out Fryatt for Cox and Howard? Cox gives us some speed, but he's pretty short, isn't he.
bluebeau Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 So Cox (probably?) and N'Guessan. Not bad! Excuse my ignorance, but who is N'Guessan? Hope it's true about Cox, & if it is I don't think MM would have paid an over inflated price?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Please, please be true. This However, like most people on here, I won't believe it until I see it. Hoping it's not Swindon trying to attract the Baggies into a bidding war. I truly believe he can do a job for us. He possesses pace, youth, talent and self-assurance. Fcuk, I sound like Thracian there! I want this to go through.
Asha Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Excuse my ignorance, but who is N'Guessan? Winger we've apparently signed, or are signing, from Lincoln.
