Swindon boss Danny Wilson has placed West Brom and Leicester on red alert by admitting top scorer Simon Cox is likely to leave the County Ground in the summer.

Cox has scored 32 goals this season, making him one of the Football League's hottest properties.

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray has already seen a £1million bid for the 22-year-old former Reading striker turned down in January. Former Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday boss Wilson said: "I'll be disappointed if he does leave, but I'm a realist, I think it's a good chance it will happen.

"I'm hoping that nobody fancies him, but that's being a bit unrealistic I think.

"For someone to score 32 goals in one position is a massive void to try and fill, so that's going to be our biggest test if - and it's not a big if - we lose him."

Same here, No disrespect to Fryatt but from what we can judge on he has proven he can be prolific in League One but 1 step up in leagues and he struggles, I just fear this will be the same.

After seeing Cox as a guest on BLW I'd put money on him being a success at Championship level. He has an arrogance and self belief that Fryatt doesn't quite possess

Cox has the 1 attribute that holds Fryatt back, Pace, he can create chances for himself simply because of that, add those to the other chances others will provide , I think he'd get around 20 goals a season

The only difference between them ebing Cox's Pace....

So... how can we fit them into the same team? We cant. Simple.

Fryatt not long ago signed a new contract and it will be on bigger wages that before - very natural to assume that.

MM will not of wanted to do that and then bring someone else in Just for our highest wage earner to warm the bench.

Neither will he spend 1.5m -2m on someone just for them to warm the bench.

Either we wont be signing Cox or Fryatt will have to go - i just do not see how both of them can be at the club - Fryatt is just too much of an asset to leave on the bench ... MM wont want to see his value ebb away and Matty will be on the crest of a wave after last season and clearly will not want to be a bench warmer..

Sure if the transfer fee for Cox was 400-500k it wouldnt be an issue....

Fryatt looks better when he plays in that space from striker to midfield. He's not quick,but he is quite smart with his play. I think If you played Cox upfront, and Fryatt just behind that could really work. It would mean dropping Howard, though. And it would mean we'd have no target man... so no more long balls (surely Leicester wouldn't ditch the long ball?).

Oh yeah, exactly. Fryatt had so many chance this season. He got 30, but could've got 40. Plus, the type of goals Cox scores are awesome. Shots from 30 yards, volleys. He goes for it more. He makes it himself. With service, who knows how many he could bang in.

Simon Cox is definitely better than Fryatt, like Jimmy said he scored 30 league goals for a struggling side and lets be honest Fryatt gets a hell of a lot of chances in our team, still misses a lot more open goals than he scores.

Anyway if West Brom stay up, do we have a great chance of getting him? Can't imagine they'll want him in the Premiership.

Ive always wanted us to sign him, but now i cant be arsed to hear about it anymore .

Lets just sit back and let things happen, if we get him great if we dont, never mind.

Difference is with Cox though mate he's scored a shitload of goals for a side battling with relegation. Whereas McLoead and Sharp both playing for teams at the other end of the table

I'm a fan of Fryatt, think he plays some smart stuff outside the box, but don't think he's an out and out forward. Think he'd be a great linker, like Teddy Sheringham was. Him and cox could work, but the lack of height would hurt us. The only problem with Howard and Fryatt is lack of speed, otherwise they are fine.

I do not know. Haven't watched him enough to say that altho the stats show that:

Fryatt assists = 6

Cox assists = 4
