The Doctor Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Slightly related, I thought I'd add it as the threads been bought back up. This is the first I've seen of the plans to expand home park, ambitious to say the least: that first one looks like a top hat.
StanSP Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Sunderland London Wembley Birmingham (Villa Park) Manchester City Nottingham Forest new stadium London Emirates (Arsenal) Leeds Sheffield Hillsborough Newcastle St James Park Bristol City (new) London (New Spurs or Olympic Stadium) Plymouth (Home Park) Manchester Utd Liverpool (Anfield or New Anfield) MK Dons Interesting. FIFA make final decision though.
Tommeh Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 MK Dons! This bid can fook off then, hope we don't get it. Tossers. Also Plymouth! Yeah good one. More shite grounds to ruin this game further. Just as Euro 96 severly dented football in this country, this bid has the potential to kill it.

The Doctor Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Baffling as the stadium's not been built. and the nottingham council rejected the building plans. You can't even extend the city ground seeing as it's in the middle of a housing estate.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Whether to gloat or console, that is the option. To be honest, it's not only to do with the stadium but the links around it, MK has obviously shown itself to have admirable links. The plans to upgrade a stadium already ranked very highly by UEFA will have featured heavily in the bid. Plymouth is ridiculous though, shite ground, not much room to upgrade, shitty transport links and it's fooking miles out of the way.
SMX11 Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 MK Dons- half built ground full capacity, not going to be enough even when fully built, therefore needs more development. Plymouth- Extension of the current stadium would cripple them financially and they will probably be in league 2 by then anyway. Nottingham- I though they pulled out???? New stadium somewhere that probably will fail to get planning permission. Leicester- Small extension of current ground. hmm not to hard to choose is it.
RedHux Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 and the nottingham council rejected the building plans. You can't even extend the city ground seeing as it's in the middle of a housing estate. yep. The county council and the city council have been arguing over the new ground and where it'll be too, so expect a complete farce to made of this. So much so it probably won't be built be 2018.
lcfc_jme Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 L..O..L.. Good one, selection panel. Plymouth's Nazi-stewards will LOVE South American fans ahahah.. And MK Dons?! @ England's bid. What a joke.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 MK Dons have provided a plan to complete the stadium and increase the capacity to 43,000. Going to be fooking useless to us afterwards though.
lcfc_jme Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 MK Dons have provided a plan to complete the stadium and increase the capacity to 43,000.Going to be fooking useless to us afterwards though. Please tell me that's a joke? I mean really, it has to be?!! :crylaugh: :crylaugh:
Part Of The Crowd Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Please tell me that's a joke? I mean really, it has to be?!! Nope, and completely filled with comfy seats and pleasant stewards of course.
Ricey Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Can't believe MK has been chosen. No footballing heritage.
TrickyTrev Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 When we bid for the Olympics it came with compulsory purchase orders and guarantees of facilities exactly where and how we would want them. The World Cup is more complex as it needs more than one arm of local government on side and it has evidently failed to gain enough power or friends to deliver the stadiums required for a world cup. The mess in London and Liverpool is a joke and god knows how they can pick Nottingham who have no hope or avenue for a new stadium.
RedHux Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 MK Dons have provided a plan to complete the stadium and increase the capacity to 43,000.Going to be fooking useless to us afterwards though. Same here. Only we're building ours from scratch to sit half empty for most home games.
Nationwider Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 I won't lose any sleep over this, but I'm disappointed if not surprised that Leicester has been passed over. Still, I'm sure that fans all over the world will eagerly flock to Milton Keynes to savour its rich cultural and footballing heritage, not to mention the architecture and exquisite natural surroundings. Google "Travelodge Newport Pagnell" immediately to avoid disappointment!
dandannieldanok Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Hope England don't get the bid now. Not because Leicester didn't get it, but Plymouth and Milton Keynes...........
StanSP Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Same here. Only we're building ours from scratch to sit half empty for most home games. I thought your plans to build a new one got rejected??
lcfc_jme Posted 16 December 2009 Posted 16 December 2009 Nope, and completely filled with comfy seats and pleasant stewards of course. 2009/10: Highest Attendance: 16713 (Leeds). Lowest Attendance: 8633 (Colchester) Average Attendance: 10325 What the fook are you lot going to do in a stadium that size?? Surely it'll cripple you to run and makes no sense? Well, one can always hope anyway.
