Asha Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 It's not exactly failure, is it? They've stayed up, they'd have taken that before the season.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Regard less of what you think, Hull have had a season of ups and downs. From Being top of the season early on, to having brown humiliate his team during half time. But the guy has done well, With a limited amount of money, the guy has done a miracle. He deserves to basque in the glory of staying up!

Phil Brown is a total pr*ck, Hull only stayed up because there were 3 teams even more pathetic than them.
joely22 Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 He might be a poser but he's still a good manager. Good one.

Hitesh Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 I don't mind him and fair play to the guy, enjoyed that they stayed up. At the end of the day, they stayed up by having more points than the 3 below them, and its about the season not the last day!
Ultra Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Hull have still to manage a home league win this year. I'll be amazed if they finish outside the bottom three next season.
DeclanMC Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 I always liked Phil Brown, and I'm glad Hull stayed up. Hull the place is like the 7th Circle of Hell, but I like the team, and can't understand all the hate.
Corky Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Hull have still to manage a home league win this year.I'll be amazed if they finish outside the bottom three next season. Need major changes and improvement. 15 points from the last 29 games says it all.
Finnegan Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 I don't understand the Phil Brown hate. Quality manager. I think he showed a bit of naivety with his handling of the squad but he's not the most experienced and he'll learn. Done wonders really this year and is often fairly honest in an interview.
Joe. Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Media whore. 1 win from their last 22 and they still stayed up? Very, very lucky. Nice away day for us next year with Newcastle going down, still can't believe it really.

Nice away day for us next year with Newcastle going down, still can't believe it really. Yeah, but look how they started. They made a fair point on MOTD really - at the start of the season anyone would have considered it a miracle for Hull to stay up. It only looks like a poor season because of how well they started. All this "media whore" stuff seems a bit over the top, really. So he talked to his players on the pitch - big whoop. Had it worked we'd all be kissing his ass, it didn't, it was a risk. He's hardly Holloway is he?
Ultra Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 I always liked Phil Brown, and I'm glad Hull stayed up. Hull the place is like the 7th Circle of Hell, but I like the team, and can't understand all the hate. Never been to Coventry or Stoke then? They were good in the first three months, even winning at the Emirates (more than the top two managed in the league), but once they were sussed out Brown had no plan B. I don't see him as a Holloway - more of a Peter Taylor..
fantastic_mr_fox Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 When Hull won at the Walkers Phil Brown spent alot of his time giving it large to the leicester supporters - a proper tool and should have showed some some dignity yesterday
Guest Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 When Hull won at the Walkers Phil Brown spent alot of his time giving it large to the leicester supporters - a proper tool and should have showed some some dignity yesterday It's all about courting the fans, and all for effect. I am so glad that our Nige isn't like that.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 To be fair I am glad they stayed up because I wanted Newcastle to go down but I don't really think that they deserve it. Their goals against Tottenham and Arsenal away were awesome but would only be scored for 1 out of every 10 attempts. I think Hull were lucky and unless they strengthen big time in the summer, they will be found out for what they are next season.
