Milky Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Hopefully they'll show Robson. No idea how she'll compete against women, but good luck to her.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Guarantee that at some point during the tournament, the roof on centre court will not work.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 The new court 2 looks very nice It does, and it looks even better with a Brit winning on it.
The Blur Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 I'm dissapointed that Nadal pulled out If Murrary does win it then it would be tainted that he doesn't beat Nadal somewhere in the competition to win it
Bilo Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Have to say that for a 15 year old playing her first ever Grand Slam match, Laura Robson looks very impressive. Even if she ends up losing, taking a set from a player like Hantuchova is no mean feat. Hopefully she can progress though, would do wonders for her future prospects.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 If Murrary does win it then it would be tainted that he doesn't beat Nadal somewhere in the competition to win it Why would it? You can only beat what's put in front of you. It's not Murray's fault Nadal is injured.
The Blur Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Why would it? You can only beat what's put in front of you. It's not Murray's fault Nadal is injured. Yeah, but if I was Murray then I would feel truly safatstied if I beat all of the best players in a tournament on way to winning it then I would have won it on the merit
dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Yeah, but if I was Murray then I would feel truly safatstied if I beat all of the best players in a tournament on way to winning it then I would have won it on the merit There's no guarantee he would have played Nadal anyway. Would you say Federer didn't win the French open on merit because he didn't beat Nadal?
The Blur Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 There's no guarantee he would have played Nadal anyway. Would you say Federer didn't win the French open on merit because he didn't beat Nadal? Every tournament is won on the merit unless every player that faced the winner got injured and retired but beating the likes of Federer,Djokioic (sp) and Nadal on the way would make it more worthy and ensure huge amount of the personal grafication for Murray

dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Gutted for Robson, but she did well. Superb effort for a 15 year old, she's got a long and prosperous career ahead of her for sure.
Matt Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Fuk me. This is on BBC 1 and 2? Mind you, not sure what else would be on instead but still...
StanSP Posted 22 June 2009 Author Posted 22 June 2009 Gutted for Robson, but she did well. High hopes for her. Only finished her GCSEs last week, and to come straight into this tournament is admirable. Got a long way to go but she will be a star in the future.
Milky Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Yeah, it's great to finally see a British girl with real potential. She's still playing in the juniors so it's not over yet. I can see the future now, Murray and Robson double.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Robson played really well, the step up from Juniors to Pro's looked like it took it's toll on her stamina. She can take alot from this experience and hopefully she can defend her Junior title next week.
purpleronnie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 She tried her best, its the taking part that counts.
Milky Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 She tried her best, its the taking part that counts. Are you actually trying to put a downer on this?

dandannieldanok Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Cracking match on the red button, Lopez and Beck 2-2 in sets, 6-5 Lopez in the decider.
purpleronnie Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Are you actually trying to put a downer on this? How could i, she lost, its all positive.
