UrbanFox Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Just heard Ian Stringer on the radio say he is to be offered a 1 year contract.
JakeShingler Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Just heard it me self it says he is seriously considering retirement but the 1 year contract will be more of a coaching role.
carterfox90 Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 got to admit he played well for us better than mattock so hopefully will be able to teach him a trick or 2 in his coaching role
maddog Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 If Mattock is sold we will need all the help we can get. Excellent that he gets 1 more year.
lcfc_jme Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Powell is an icon. He should be offered a lifetime contract in some capacity at our club. If more "professionals" adopted his approach to the game and life in general, football's reputation wouldn't be continually tarnished in the way that it is.
General Smuts Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 FUCKING GET IN YOU SEXY BEAUTIFUL HUNK OF MAN SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Suffolk_fox Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Just heard Ian Stringer on the radio say he is to be offered a 1 year contract. It would appear you are correct in that assumption.
Sparky Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 If its a 1 year player/coach contract then its gotta be good for all concerned . He can pass on his wealth of experience whilst still providing good cover to the left back role
dandannieldanok Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Blimey, no offence to the bloke but I hope this is more heavily weighted towards the coaching role rather than the playing. I'm sorry but at his age he wouldn't be able to cope at Championship level.

lou Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Blimey, no offence to the bloke but I hope this is more heavily weighted towards the coaching role rather than the playing. I'm sorry but at his age he wouldn't be able to cope at Championship level. He played better than most of our youngsters last season when he did feature... different division yes but he can still do a good job. Cant see him playing a full game of course but he would be a great squad player.
Fox92 Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Great  I like Powell, sat in well when Mattock did not play.
ousefox Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Great news! He will be good if our first left back is injured and adds so much experience to the sqaud.
Sods Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Chris Powell, POW! All you need is Chris powell, hes got the power to know hes indestructable, always believe in Chris Powell. Hero.
Father Ted Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Hopefully as a player/coach and then tie him down as a coach after...
maddog Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Boom Boom Boom. Gotta get get. Chris Chris Powell. Gotta get get. Boom Boom Boom. Now. Boom Boom Boom. Now. Boom Boom Boom. Now. Chris Chris Powell. Now.
MarkDeVries Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Meh.. Coaching role mainly I guess, which is good news.
iancognito Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Great news. There's no downside to having an experienced player at the back. Even if he only plays a handful of games or comes in as cover it saves having to blend in a random loan signing or push an unready 17 y.o into action. Can we have a word with Gary Mills for the right side?
Kilworthfox Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 Just heard Ian Stringer on the radio say he is to be offered a 1 year contract. Great pro! Powell, not the other ****
Daggers Posted 9 June 2009 Posted 9 June 2009 I'm guessing the response from the homophobic, racist BNP supporters over in GenChat won't be as enthusiastic as mine... Bloody Chris Powell - coming over here and taking our surnames, eh Nazi-lovers?
