SamL Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Whens the last time we played a relegated team on the first day? According to some people, a promoted team from League One always plays a relegated team from the Premier League on the opening day of the season.
Messi Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Whens the last time we played a relegated team on the first day? I know we usually play the promoted team 07/08- Blackpool 08/09- MK Dons
Corky Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Whens the last time we played a relegated team on the first day? Luton in 1992/93. Thanks to Of Fossils and Foxes for that fact.

StanSP Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 If you want a bad omen, didn't we lose 6-1 to Ipswich few seasons ago at their place on 2nd fixture of the season?
dandannieldanok Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Tough start that, some really difficult away fixtures at the start of the season.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 If you want a bad omen, didn't we lose 6-1 to Ipswich few seasons ago at their place on 2nd fixture of the season? We also got promoted
SamL Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Ah right ok, 92, thats a long time ago to play a relegated team on the first day. I didn't say we usually play a relegated team on the first day. I said that according to some people, a promoted team will always play a relegated team on the first day. Just to clear up any confusion.
General Smuts Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Anyone have a link to a text based fixture list which i can copy and paste into word and print?
Ultra Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Remember that some of the home fixtures will be moved to Fridays or Sundays. We'll know more about those when the Tigers fixtures come out. But the Derby home game is almost certain to be moved as it clashes with Diwali.
