An superb fun to have to trek through every few weeks to go and play basketball in buxton; esp when its foggy or decides to snow <_<

The tie will take place at the Moss Rose on the week commencing August 10th. The Foxes returned to the Championship last season under the guidance of manager Nigel Pearson, accumulating an impressive 96 points to win League One and finish a convincing seven points ahead of second placed Peterborough United. The last time the Silkmen and Leicester clashed in the League Cup was at the Walkers Stadium and the home side ran out 2-0 winners. The only player in the Macclesfield eleven that night who still remains at the club is goalkeeper Jon Brain. Leicester have a good history in the League Cup and have won the competition three times; first in 1964, and then as recent as 1997 and 2000 with Martin O'Neill at the helm. They are also in the record books for the youngest ever representative in the competition when Ashley Chambers appeared for the Foxes against Blackpool in 2005 as a substitute aged only 15 years 203 days. Last season they advanced to the Second Round but exited after a 3-2 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage. Macclesfield were also knocked out in the Second Round to Premier League opposition. After beating Blackpool 2-0 at the Moss Rose, the Silkmen put in a valiant effort against West Ham United at Upton Park and were unfortunate to lose 4-1 on penalties after earning a 1-1 draw.

Very spectacular. Anyway Macclesfield is only three miles from my middle son's girlfriend's place so it's a must on the calendar, doubtless followed by a trip to a favourite Italian restaurant nearby.

SamL Posted 18 June 2009 Posted 18 June 2009 Leicester City's Carling Cup first round clash against Macclesfield Town will be played on Wednesday 12th August (7.45pm).The tie will be the Foxes' first ever visit to Moss Rose and will take place four days after the season opener against Swansea City at the Walkers Stadium. The two sides met at the same stage of the competition during the 2006/07 campaign with City progressing into the second round with a 2-0 home victory. Ticket details will be revealed on LCFC.com when made available.

The fixture lists will probably say 'Week beginning' meaning that the date shown is a Monday. Some will be played on the Tuesday, some will be played on the Wednesday.

Some will be played on the Tuesday, some will be played on the Wednesday. if you look at the list of fixutes on the OS, for instance on the backgrounds, they say Mon 10th - Macclesfield (CC1) Mon 24th - Carling Cup second round Mon 21st - Carling Cup third round So on, so forth Is this actually the case or have city messed up again?
