Fosse Boy Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I made a point of looking around towards the end of last season and it really did look like a lot of people were jumping about like nutters, or something pretty similar. Ironically, the most noticeable spot for said nutter jumping looked like L1. I assume it was people mocking the dance but regardless the song still generates a big reaction in the club's eyes.I don't like it either, however I've always said that there's probably too many people who are indifferent to it to actually make much of a difference (10,000 people was a bit optimistic right?!). Hopefully it'll be gone by the start of this season though, especially given the positive news on your Facebook group from that Nick lad. Yeah, you were right on that aspect, hence why I changed the group's name a couple of weeks back.
One Half Wonder Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 I want more music. It should also be played when the ball goes out of play, or when a player is down injured etc. ha ha haaa, 'throw your hands up in the air, throw your hands up in the air' for a throw in etc.!! :-)
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 "under the moon of love" , by showaddywaddy please Why no groundswell of support for this emminently sensible proposal? I'm shocked and let down
Guest Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 My most sincere apologies. I shall forgive you. This time.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Goal music is actually almost as bad as AIDs. It should stay MILES away from everyone and nobody should be subjected to it.
jonw88 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Can't believe nobody's mentioned this yet (sorry if they have). Read this on the LCFC newsletter that they email out: http://zeta.ecommzone.com/LZ/LCFC/001056/0...07b0/story1.htm Prior to Saturday’s match against Barnsley (3pm kick-off) the City team will be lined up in the tunnel area with the sounds of the band’s anthemic single, ‘Underdog’, ringing around the Walkers Stadium, a tune that will no doubt be familiar with City supporters following its use in a recent T.V ad starring Brazilian international Kaka. Underdog will be followed immediately by the traditional post horn gallop, played by Paul Hing, in the centre circle before kick-off. There will be another significant change for the match, one of which we hope the fans on the day will become extremely familiar with. From Saturday, the band will achieve another milestone, which Kasabian front man, Tom Meighan is buzzing about: “As a band, we feel privileged that the club is going to use our track, ‘Fire’, as the goal celebration music. Both Serge and I have been supporters of the club forever and to be told this news is amazing – it’s the best feeling in the world!” So, did they listen to FoxesTalk?? Definitely a good move, bye bye f***ing Chelsea Dagger!!!!
Shrenchel Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Song aint bad for an indie band I spose but it's hardly good news. The fight for no goal music and has been set back another season or two at least I'd imagine.

Fox in a Box Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 GOOD WORK. BUT WHAT ABOUT SHOWADDYWADDY? UNDER THE MOON OF LOVE?
Asha Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I'm on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire.

The fight for no goal music and has been set back another season or two at least I'd imagine. This. At least it's fairly unique to our club and city I s'pose. If we could do goal music properly like ze Germans it wouldn't be an issue, but being English we've got no chance of pulling it off without it looking tacky.
jonw88 Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Better to have this, a song written by a local band who love their club as much as we do, than following the other sheep in the football league with that Chelsea Dagger crap. Finally the club has used its senses and given (most of) us what we wanted.

Finally the club has used its senses and given (most of) us what we wanted. If you do a search for the polls that have been done on here about it, the no goal music option knocked ten shits into the changing it to another song option as far as I remember so I don't see how they've given most people what they wanted. Oh well, at least all the ****** can't do the fooking dance now. Hopefully they might turn it down a bit as well, noticed sheffield united didnt have their gash song nearly as loud as we do.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Next best thing to no goal music and at least it's a song by a local band who care about the club. As Shrenchel says, if it's turned down and used well then it can only be an improvement. And no more Dagger Dance is lovely.

That thing just made me cringe to the extreme every time I saw it. Plus, now little kiddies won't think it's one of our songs.

LCFC-ARAB Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 as much as i hate goal music i think this is a step in the right direction.....
Fosse Boy Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 What are your thoughts of fans singing along to the Fire tune then? I don't think that'll happen actually. I think that tune is more condusive to free celebration happening while it's on than Dagwank ever was. But if everyone in the ground sings along to the "deh doo doo deh doo" bit after the chorus, I'll concede and admit it'll probably sound awesome.

That would sound pretty much perfect really and I daresay that's what they intend to happen. You can't monkey dance to it, it's by a local band and if everyone sings along to the bit after the chorus it'll send shivers. I'm warming to this idea more and more. Didn't somebody on your FB group say that NP had a say in it?
Fosse Boy Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Yeah that's what I meant. That's the bit they'll play I imagine. Yeah, I would imagine so too. But as I say I don't think it's a song that lends itself to choreography (for want of a better word) in the same way Dagwank did.
