Dan Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 Andy Kings an international footballer?Hasnt he made like 2 appearances for Wales. Nice question, well answered
clazkel Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 On a brighter note I think Billy Kee bagged a hat-trick for Accrington Stanley tonight. Thats great news. I was hoping he may feature this season and i guess hes only on a 6 month loan so still might. He played really well against Loughborough Dynamo and i was hoping he would get a chance in the first team, i honestly think he could do a decent job for us

davieG Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Well it's just gone 8am and the OS still has nothing posted on this game where as the Stags have a report and a free video interview with the Manager. Championship - you're having a laugh! Report from the Stags: Mansfield held Championship side Leicester to a well deserved draw at Field Mill tonight. Both sides had chances to take the honours, but neither had the cutting edge to find the net. Daryl Clare had the ball in the net six-minutes after the break, but Mansfield's celebrations were cut short by the linesman's flag, as the Stags debuted their new Argentina-style away shirts for this season. It had taken the Stags almost half an hour to get a foothold in the game, and they took that momentum into the second half, hitting Leicester with everything they had for the first ten minutes. Leicester responded in kind, and for a while the match burst into life, but this was short lived however, as the inevitable substitutions came and both team's flow was disrupted. Before that, Leicester had started in complete control, bossing midfield and regularly stretching the Stags back four. Max Gradel on the Leicester left gave Craig Armstrong a particularly tough time. His right foot crosses set up two clear headers for Steve Howard which the burly forward put off target, but twice Gradel wasted good positions as he cut onto his left foot and shot wildly over. The visitors new signing Richie Wellens took early control of midfield on his debut with some sharp passes cutting though Mansfield's midfield, but the home side's defence held firm, as Armstrong made a couple of crucial last ditch challenges. Wellens looked good to start returning the club's £1.2m investment in him, but the Leicester forwards could not find the final touch to any of his passes. For Mansfield, Louis Briscoe and Ryan Williams impressed down the flanks, with Briscoe earning the man of the match award for his graft. Several times he caused the visitors backline trouble with his mazy runs and determined tracking down, including a smart save by Chris Weale from a nice snap-shot, but he too couldn't find the key to unlock Leicester. All too often Mansfield support was slow in reaching Clare and his strike partner Luke Perry, meaning they were out-manned and unable to free themselves of the Foxes defence. Manager David Holdsworth changed things early in the second half, switching to a 4-2-1-3 formation with Briscoe joining the strikers and Williams sitting just behind. This gave the Stags a greater fluency and more edge in midfield, but also stunted their attacks as play was channelled through the middle rather than out wide where they had earlier prospered. A downpour an hour before kick-off had livened up the surface, and both teams attempted to play flowing attacking football whenever possible, but he last 20 minutes provided little in the way of real goalmouth action. Both managers will be able to take something from an evenly fought contest, though David Holdsworth is likely to be the happier of the two with the way his side held on and battled through a tough first half.
lou Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Wish I hadnt bothered Got soaked, got cold, got bored, got annoyed by pathetic, over the top stewards, thinking they were coppers and acting like it was a Millwall/Leeds game and not letting anyone stand, have a laugh or anything else. at the pratts gearing up to stop a "pitch invasion" at half time! Miserable feckers all of em were. Wasnt much of a game but hey, its a friendly and Im not gonna slate players or start panicking yet. Hope Shrewsbury is better!
David Guiza Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Could'nt really tell alot from last night, after all it's all about fitness at the minute. I was impressed with N'guessan at times though he looked really threatning when he ran direct at there defence. And Wellens looks a good buy.

General Smuts Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 I am just pleased Posh lost 4-0 at home to Spurs.I know its only a friendly and doesnt matter, but they have failed to score in two home friendlies now letting 7 in They battered St Albans 4-1 i think. They have Stevenage at the weekend which i shall be attending so i'll let y'all know how that goes.
Raj Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 0-0 against the mighty Mansfield!!! DISGRACE!!! The sooner we get rid of Pearson and get someone in proper like Kevin Keegan or Jean Tigana the better. AND we should have tried to get Tevez. We are a fcuking joke. And the Family Stand should be swapped with The Kop to create a better atmosphere...someone should do a petition.....
Lillehamring Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 Because we were up against some shit hot strikers? i don't know, i'm not an expert on mansfield, but from the sounds of it they had the bulk of possesion and chances in the second half, and we kept them at bay. :dunno;

I thought at times, he was trying to run through defenders, but I'm not complaining! I like that in a player who is on my team!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 July 2009 Posted 22 July 2009 A bit dissapointing, but I expect Nigel can see the weaknesses and do something about them. Wellens and N'guisson are the only two new signings, that I feel are quality players.

carterfox90 Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 a bit worrying that we could'nt score past mansfield hope they find their shooting boots for the new season
Vlad The Impaler Posted 23 July 2009 Posted 23 July 2009 a bit worrying that we could'nt score past mansfield hope they find their shooting boots for the new season We'll be fine, it's only pre season, just look out our defence last year, conceding goals from left right and centre in pre season but when things got competetive we had the best defence in the League. I'm not saying we are going to have the best strikeforce in the league and I understand your point but we should be ok, with a few more additons aswell we'll be fine.
Bert Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Bert said he's had a Hernia op. Did he? I just thought he said he had a hernia. Sign in to Mansfield world mate.Use this: username - lcfcwebmaster password - filbert Congratulations on being a complete goon. This has now been changed.
Fox You Forest Posted 24 July 2009 Posted 24 July 2009 Radio Leicester said on Monday he'd had an op, so I assumed.
