I spoke to him before the S****horpe game and he said he will be back in Pre season and ready for this season...

How does everyone know that he is in full training? havent seen any pictures of him, surprising that he hasn`t been mentioned! perhaps if he plays a pre-season friendly and is uable to overcome the injury problems he has been having then he will hang up his boots I think?

It's gonna take an almighty effort to break into the side with the length of absence he's had and the midfield line-up we can now boast about.

What is so great about Leicester midfield? Have I missed something?

This is true.

We've signed someone who we all hope will do a good job for us, but I'll hardly be doing cartwheels down the street from now until the start of the season. And to boast about our midfield? In all seriousness, give it 10 games and then see where we're at.

What i was thinking, don't wanna sound negative but Oakley, King and Clemence played for us when we went down. They ( Oakley and King ) had good seasons in a league what isn't nowhere near as good as the championship.

I don't want ever see Clemence in a city shirt again. His halfhearted performance haven't left my memory.

He is the modern Matt Jones.

He was sensational for Birmingham 2 seasons ago when he got them promoted since then he's not done alot, what is the reason for this sudden decline?

I want him to stay and try and regain his past form, afterall he's still our official club captain.

Clemence was injured half way through the 07-08 season and played on through the pain barrier. Prob causing irripairable damage, hence what we are seeing now. Not sure those are fair comments.

Andy King has grown in ability and confidence. He is more than ready for a crack at the Championship.

Matt Oakley is a solid playmaker, works hard and bangs in the odd goal or too. Will easily fit into the Championship.

Richie Wellens was probably one of the best midfield players in the league last year.

Lloyd Dyer & Max Gradel - they're both young, hungry and full of running. With Pearsons support, they will adapt to the higer level.

Dany N'Guessan, unproven at this level but obviously talented in Pearson's eyes.

With Clemence not having any match time for over a year, he has a lot to prove to get ahead of the above. As I said, it'll take a huge effort on his part to claim a starting place.

So, what will the midfield line-up be on the opening match? Presuming no more midfielders are signed and no one breaks a leg?

My predicton: Gradel Oakley Wellens Dyer

N'Guessan to sub Gradel, or be played as a striker behind Fryatt.

(This will probably be completely off the mark!)

Anyone know what / where Mr S Clemenece is at the moment?

After attending Jackson's funeral he will be heading into North Korea in order to bring a resolution to the current conflicts between them and the South.

He's also working on putting the moon on a stick

While I hope you are right and we are a solid midfield unit, I have reservations most of our players, not just in midfield.

King & Oakley both went missing in league 1 last season on occasions when the going got tough. If Oakley was having an off day King never stepped up to my recollection. I am not hammering the lad, I have seen enough football to know not to ask such a player to do the business week in week out. Oakley IMO needs to be much more consistent or be sold.

Wellens looks to be the best that we have at the moment, a playmaker in the Izzet mould will go down very well :fc: lets see him do the business in a blue shirt first

Dyer has pace, however no clue how to use it. If he adapts his game at all, from being anything other than 100% direct then he is terrible. Gradel is very much like King, but as I say for there is definite talent in them both.

No comments on N'Guessan as I know nothing of him, but lets not base all hopes that he will be the new Ricky Hill lol

Clemence was a steady Premiership footballer who was never exciting but did a job. Since he has moved to us he has had some injuries and has played on as we know, I hope he can recapture his past good play, but it does not look too good does it?

In my opinion there is far too much optimism on this fans board. I don't know if it is because we won the division last season or because of the Mercury "Pravda" style Mandaric headline grabbing irresponsible journalism?

The facts are that we did win the division comfortably last season, but against who?

Every week we met a much lower class opposition than ourselves.

Next seasons Championship will be a lot more of a challenge than the majority of members seem to think it will be from the posts that get put on here. I think there is a distinct lack of respect for other Championship sides and their players.

Lets have it right! No one is talking about Leicester City other than us fans. What are the odds on us A) being promoted and B) being relegated? Before the comebacks start about that possibly being a good thing, I do see both sides of the coin on that issue.

In my supporters mind, expect the minimum & the rest can be a bonus, expect a lot and there could be a big fall to be had "IF" we don't win a game in the first 6 - 8 games. :dunno:

We're are quoted at around 8/1 both to be promoted or to get relegated :/

Read into that what you will, mid table finish??? :dunno:

Well anything between 10th to 18th so yes. Bookies are wrong but not often. I would take either NOW!

Agree with every word of this. Dyer and Gradel are never going to be consistent enough in the Championship when they rarely showed any signs of it last season in League One. Totally agree with the point that Dyer has pace but no idea what to do with it too, he'll get murdered by right backs next year.

I have a feeling that N'Guessan will be a slightly better version of Max Gradel. I think he'll have the quality to beat his man, but then fail to deliver the ball or apply the finish, whichever is applicable.

I've never really seen anybody criticise King either for his no-shows in quite a few games. He's going to need to step it up even further to become successful next year, and I think he'll be able to do it for us. Oakley's got to get stuck in there as well, just as he did for most of the back end of last season.

In general, I'm happy with the central midfield we have, but not so much with the wingers. I think Wellens is a quality signing though, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him in a blue shirt.

sorry to be a critic, because I enjoy your posts. Im not having a go at you but....,

Wellens is a playmaker in the Steve Thompson/Gary Macalister role were as Izzet was a box to box goal scoring midfielder. Wellens will have a number of assists next season but will never score as many as Izzet did on a regular basis. Im excited by Wellens as I dont think we've had a player like him for a number of years.

Gradel is a wing player who likes to attack with skill and pace, King is a defensive midfield player with an eye for goal.

N'Guessan is a winger/second striker with pace and skill. Ricky Hill was a playmaker like Wellens. By the time Hill arrived at city he was plauged by injury problems and his apperences were great but limited (ooh ah Ricky Hill say oh ah Ricky Hill). He played centre midfield and his best days were behined him when he came to city, Danny is young and has his best days ahead of him.
