Shrenchel Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 Don't know if there is a theme park on the east, unless Thorpe Park is east. Fantasy Island in Skeggy has some good raves (it used to anyway) if you that way inclined They had one a month or so back after a break of a fair few years. Apparently it was mainly hardcore though, gash.
BoneDog Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 They had one a month or so back after a break of a fair few years. Apparently it was mainly hardcore though, gash. Yes! It gotta be Jungle or whatever they call it nowadays for me. Hardcore was good back in the early 90's but all changed for the worse when it went 'happy' I had me best rush ever at skeggy, Mickey Finn and GQ mashed me head up one night about '95.

ousefox Posted 20 July 2009 Posted 20 July 2009 ..done blackpool years ago We are looking at "Flamingo world", anyone been there? Do you mean Flamingo Land? It's near York and it is very good. I'm actually going on thursday! It has also recently built the steepest rollercoaster in the world.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 July 2009 Posted 20 July 2009 Do NOT go to Skegness under any circumstances. I went there for a day and felt bitter that I will never get that time back. I went to London this weekend and it did nothing to upset me at all, which is probably a first. In fact, I was generally impressed by how clean and efficient it all was, which I never thought I'd find myself saying

Arrived, walked to the Sea, had some chips, went home. A grand total of 1 hour 40 minuites. Skegness always reminds me of that road that Argos is on in Leicester.

We went to a nature reserve just down the coast when we'd eaten, which was infinitely preferable in that there was nothing there at all. Belgrave Gate - Leicester's FINEST thoroughfare. If you like pound shops

Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 July 2009 Posted 20 July 2009 Well, in comparison to other UK cities anyway. I live in a skip, but it's the cleanest skip you'll ever see
Zingari Posted 20 July 2009 Posted 20 July 2009 Well, in comparison to other UK cities anyway.I live in a skip, but it's the cleanest skip you'll ever see lucky booger i used to dream of living in a skip , it would have been a palace compared to my hole in the ground covered by a sheet of tarpaulin
ozleicester Posted 21 July 2009 Author Posted 21 July 2009 so..the other part of my question was... where should i "sit" at the walkers. Keep in mind this is the first real football game ill have been too since 1991 at Filbert St. also it will the better half's first real football match, so where is the atmosphere now? also the OS talks about gold/platinum tickets etc..but doesnt really explain them..so...where..and how much. As an aside...is there somewhere we should pop into before the game??
Jon the Hat Posted 21 July 2009 Posted 21 July 2009 Right, when you are Cornwall, if you get that far, you will no doubt be obliged to visit the hell that is the "Lands End Experience". In order to rebalance your sense of wellbeing after you have left, you need to (on a Sunnry Day) visit Kynance Cove. This is on the West of the Lizard peninsula. It is the most beautiful piece of coastline in the UK for me. Not in a wild stunning way, but in a beautiful turquiose my god would you look at that way. Wrap up warm in October, and find yourself a pub to warm up afterwards. I also really like the Lizard - Britains most Southerley point. And Mousehole (pronounced Mowzel) just past Penzance - I satyed there twice now. The Ship is a good pub and has rooms. Pint of Tribute anyone? Hmmm. 5 Fore Street restaurant does a brilliant Newlyn Crab sandwich. Yum. Cape Cornwall is a good spot if you want to get windblown and watch Peregrine Falcons. You can wave at Stonehenge on the way down the A303. Take a piccy out the window. If you must pop into the car park but I wouldn't spend any money on it. It is more striking from a distance in my view.

Stonehenge..is in...and even paying Not going all the way to lands end.... stopping around St Austel (sp?) Eco Dome etc and (the name escapes me) some nice national park down there?

Its like a WW2 comes to life museum and I remember loving it as a kid!! Also if your heading to Wales the Gower Peninsula is fantastic. Rivals the Cornish coastline for me! I'd try and stay away from the big cities such as Swansea and Cardiff though!! Typical shops you would find anywhere else and really busy with traffic. If your heading to the gower , Llanelli isnt too far away and much quieter in comparison!
