Leicester City make their last pre-season trip tonight when they take on Chesterfield at Saltergate (7.45) as the build-up gathers momentum.

After this clash against the League Two side, the Foxes finish it all off in their glamour friendly against Real Valladolid at the Walkers Stadium on Sunday (3.0).

But already City boss Nigel Pearson has declared places are up for grabs and the real value of these games is to lead towards the strongest possible starting line-up for the season's opener here against Swansea City on Saturday, August 8.

Pearson, setting the challenge, said: "We want to have another successful season and the players have got to make sure they do everything they can to get into the side and some of them will be unlucky.

"There are only two games to go and really now the pre-season weeks are beginning to get more like the season itself. The fitness levels are good, we are happy with that and now we have to make sure the fine tuning is there both in terms of how we play as a unit and how individuals are.

"It is coming together but we have a bit of a way to go yet."

Striker Matty Fryatt is again not available because of a leg infection, meaning Steve Howard (pictured) will lead the attack as before. Pearson explained: "Matty's infection is slowing his recovery down. He is still on antibiotics and we don't know how long we will have to wait for him."

City squad: Weale, Logan; Neilson, O'Neill, Morrison, Hobbs, Tunchev, Berner, Gradel, Oakley, N'Guessan, A King, Wellens, Dyer, Burns, Verma, Adams, Howard, Chambers, Dickov, Powell.

I thought Stringer said last night it's not on RL but it will be available online, Presumably he meant LCFC/Chesterfield World, not online on the BBC Radio Leicester website?

Had a quick look on the BBC Radio Leicester website, couldn't see anything :(
