Maybe a defensive midfielder that pushes up a little - but not too much? or 3 central midfielders with the 2 outer mids pushing out to wings to give you some width, and obviously 3 directly up top. My preferred formation that works for virtually anyteam is either 4-1-2-1-2 or 4-3-1-2

The longer that players play with the chosen mentality, the better they adapt to it and stick to it. I never like the idea of playing with only 1 up front. Too much to rely on. I'd only do it if there were 2 good attacking central midfielders who can strike a ball from distance pretty well.

See if that does anything. That would leave a hole in between defence and midfielders. If you are going to play with AMC, you could drop one of the centre-mids back or have a defensive mid play in centre-mid and set his mentality to defensive so that he stays back while the other pushes forward.

Part Of The Crowd Posted 5 November 2009 Posted 5 November 2009 Started a new game as MK with a couple of budget tweaks to make it slightly more realistic and it's going well so far. I signed Pele again on a free, Martin (GK) from Liverpool for 20K and Cambell-Ryce from Barnsley for 80K. Blasted through Pre-Season in absolutely beastly form, beating a couple of greek teams 3 - 0 and 5 - 1 respectively, beat Mansfield 5 - 0 and Rushden 7 - 0, my last game was against Deportivo so I was expecting my first and only loss of pre-season, only to come through with a 4 - 0 win, Easter grabbing all 4. Out of my 24 goals in pre-season 16 were scored by Easter, 4 by Ibehre, 2 by Baldock and 2 by Leven. I've been playing with the following line up so far. Gueret Woodards - Doumbe - McCracken - Lewington Gobern - Leven - Gleeson - Johnson Ibehre Easter My usual substitutions have been Chadwick or Puncheon for Gobern or Johnson, Cambell - Ryce for Gleeson and Baldock for Ibehre with him taking on a more forward attacking role. So far in the league it's been 5 - 0 over Hartlepool and 3 - 0 in the League cup at Colchester. I feel it's all going to come crashing down soon though, I've been playing on quite wide pitches so far and I don't think I'm going to play as well on narrower ones.

Went mad on the free transfers and got rid of quite a few players and stuck the no hopers of my team in the reserves! I spent a lot of time looking at the transfer market and thing I got some decent free's. Also have the option for some loan signings too - talking of which, I let Waggy and McGivern go. My pre-season went OK but then went on to lose my first game, I think I went too attacking early on. Won the midweek cup game though 3-1. Here are some screenies:

CRASH DB sorts me out with some more RAM try again.......CRASH.. DB rings Dell Boy and asks him about my graphics card; "Sorry mate, that brand don't allow graphics card replacements!" GREAT! - Solution - new laptop?! £600+ to play FM i think not I have too much to pay for, i have never been so angry yet unable to express it due to my menacing illness. My little brothers birthday is in a week and hes getting a new laptop so ill jus' take a sneaky peak at his specs. and maybe wheel and deal my heap for his hopefully machine capable of playing a bloddy game on!
