Finished my first season with FC Koln in a respectable 10th place, i've spent my evening reaping the rewards of going through the whole season 50k a week under my wage budget and cashing in on some older stars. Spent 15 million on new talent to bolster an already decent young squad and managed to get Riquelme on a free for a 2 year contract. I seriously think I could have a run at the title this year, the likes of Badelj, Podolski, Riquelme, Ochoa and Youssef are as good as anything in the division.

Playing an exciting 3-1-2-3-1 formation as well, trying to get Riquelme to find space in the middle of the park, not a deep lying play maker but not a number 10, just as he did for Argentina under Peckerman. Have done it by placing him in the middle with a balanced attack/defense slider, given him max creative freedom, no closing down. I'm finding that with an attacking midfield player in the team, that bombs on rather than creates ala Gerrard or Tim Cahill, in my case Lucas Podolski, and an an anchor man, Dickson Etuhu, you can stretch the midfield vertically enough to give him room. Plays some unbelievable passes in there and has a ridiculous long shot. I Complete the midfield by putting a willing runner to win the ball back and do Riquleme's running for him, Steven Appiah and Maniche share this job.

Looking good through Pre-Season, but as always I'll never know until the league starts. I'm hoping it works because I often find that the number 10 position is too congested with teams almost always having holding players, it is after all a position that developed because teams would leave gaps between midfield and defense, and that deep lying midfield play-makers are forever trying long hopeful passes and costing you possession.

What skin is that? Looks rather nice.

Its the dark skin. Go to Preferences > Display and select the drop down under Skin and change to FM2010 dark. Its much easier on the eyes!

Another match, ANOTHER penalty conceded - really detracts from the enjoyment of the game when it's at least 1 penalty against every 2 games. Makes my goals-against tally look an awful lot worse than it should be. And drops me points as well. ****ing shit.

Playing only three pre season games isn't really a good start.

Especially when you are going to thrash the opposition in two of them and get beaten in the other. How are you supposed to know if you are setting the side up okay with a pre-season like that? Players will be half fit and not gelled as well.

I have tackling set to hard against the other teams strikers all the time.

I like to think when I play aginst the big teams I play like Bolton. I set tackling to hard on literally all their midfielders and strikers, I'll end up with loads of yellow cards but it often works.

lol Always the way! You should have stopped checking days ago!

This FM is much harder than the others but I like it - its more of a challenge.

I did notts county on the last one. Got them up to top of the championship before I got this one. Was a decent game

In my first transfer window with Leic in January (had budgets turned off at beginning of season) and Mad Mandy accepted a £5m bid from Everton for Tunch, but allowed me to choose whether or not to accept a £7m one. And then only gave me £2m to spend of the £5m! willy puller!

DJ can fork off as well, he's on his 3rd 1-month leave of absence for "personal problems" the tuwaaaaat. Still giving away bags of penalties, livid with that glitch. Gone out the FA Cup in round 4 to Liverpool, 4-3 at home. Gay.

I'm them at the minute, will play last game of the season in a bit, i'm 9th with a chance of being in the play offs. If i fail to get promotion I will probably have to sell everyone just to balance the books.

Oh and McGurk - free transfer from Villa and he's been banging 'em in. :wub:

Played 3 pre-season friendlies so far, against the ressies (2-1 win), Orient (1-0 win) and Glenn Hoddle's Academy (3-1 win).

Signed nobody yet, although i've got some chap on trial for the right wing, doubt i'll keep him though. Need to bring in a cm as cover :/
