NUS Cards?

How do you go about getting one? Do you have to be in full-time education or can you get one doing part-time course?

I've enrolled at college, I never bothered with one when I was at college a few years ago, that was a part-time course too though, but this time I want to cash in on anything I can get!

Also, it will lower ticket prices for games will it not?

NUS cards cost about £10 for the university year (NUS Extra)

'Current students who are studying at NUS-affiliated organisations are eligible for an NUS Extra card. You can either buy direct from www.nus.org.uk and collect your card from your students’ union, or go down to your union and ask to purchase the card.'

'Also, any student that was previously eligible for a Associate card is now able to purchase an NUS Extra card. Please go to www.nus.org.uk and selcet 'Buy now' to purchase your NUS Extra card online. If your organisation is not listed, please contact your organisation and ask them to consider offering the NUS Extra card.'

When you apply for one online, they post the card to your place of education to pick it up, to make sure there are sending it to a true student.

And yes it definitely will lower prices. Ipswich is £22 and Sheff Utd is £11 with an NUS card

I've never not been able to get student discount without the NUS Extra card, standard student card usually does the job. Do you have one Matt? A lot of colleges and Universities have NUS on the card itself somewhere, my sister's from Leicester College does, mine at QE didn't but my Uni card does.

Yeah your standard student ID card is usually enough. Although at City i've never had to show anything, they just see I look about the right age and give me the cheap ticket.

I have got a student card from last time I was at college somewhere, not sure where, I did try and use that when I was a college at a few places but many places didn't accept it, even to give discount of tickets and stuff.

I will be getting a new student card presumably as they took my photo for one when I enrolled on Friday, but might apply for one of these NUS Cards aswell maybe.

Just though i've paid for an Adult ST aswell

I use my student card to get discounts and shops/cinema etc but I might get an NUS card this year as to get a discount when you are buying something online you have to put your NUS card number which I don't have on my student card.

Standard NUS card will suffice in 99% of situations, the uses for the NUS Extra card are pretty limited really.

I'll agree with that in alot of cases. (i.e - And I don't wanna open up another can of worms, start another debate, but people who go to uni, have no clue in what they want to do for a career but go uni, finish uni and then think I don't wanna do this job, so go back to uni and study a totally different thing, and repeat...)

I actually work while studying though, I have worked since the day I left school, I have a fair few qualifiations (G.C.S.E's, NVQ's 1 and 2 - in 2 occupations, Foundation Awards, H&S, and am now enrolled on this course to get yet another occupation string to my belt, all within my trade)

around his skinny ankles. I decided to leave it and dig deeper as there was more than meets the eye. I hacked into the mainframe and next thing I know I was reading his e-mails.

The bastard was boasting to his mates that he was getting paid to jack off. I had the last laugh. In the contract it states he IS WORKING FOR ME, not himself not anyone else. Let me cut the story short and just say

for the rest of the summer I had my own personal handy man. That’s right if you jack off in company time you jack off Johnson.
