If the sun is out does it shine straight down the ground, hence will I need Sunglasses. No 4. If it rains does the rain blow into SK2, hence will i need a waterproof. Depends if your at the front, back or middle 5. Is there any precise moment i need to stand up. If the old lady behind you starts to moan! 6. Should i bring a flask of Tea. Prefer Coffee. 7. Jay Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I have sat in F1 since day 1 so here goes... 1. Is there any crucial etiquette that i need to know. Sit down and shut up seems to be the choice of the majority 2. What is the most sung chant that I need to know Boring and dull ones like Stand up if you love Leicester... 3. If the sun is out does it shine straight down the ground, hence will I need Sunglasses No you are clear of sun it hits the other stand 4. If it rains does the rain blow into SK2, hence will i need a waterproof No you should be fine walking home will be a different story though 5. Is there any precise moment i need to stand up I would like to say go with the flow enjoy yourself and have a laugh but chances are if you stand up for longer than 12 seconds the goober behind who you have never seen will start jabbing you in the back and demanding you sit down. Standing for upwards of 90seconds will result in a visit from a steward saying people have complained. 6. Should i bring a flask of Tea No 7. Is there a Mr Big, that i should'nt annoy No, only the fun police if you are seen to be enjoying yourself having a laugh and god forbid standing up the fun police will be on your case
Vlad The Impaler Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Nothing really important you need to know, stand up and clap when the players come out, when they score aswell. Listen to the chants you'll soon get to grips with them, we only sing 3 Don't need to bring anything. They sell tea at the ground but it tends to be quite pricey so a flask wouldn't be a bad idea. Just enjoy yourself mate Hope that helps
Corky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I too will be in the Kop for the first time tomorrow.
lildave3 Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 1. Is there any crucial etiquette that i need to know. - If you're in SK1, you MUST cheer Steve Howard's every touch. That's basically it.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Take a seat cushion and practice booing beforehand.
Corky Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Take a seat cushion and practice booing beforehand. It's not Edgbaston
Asha Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I had big hopes when I moved to the kop. Turned out to be a big disappointment.
Ozwin Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I'm a kop virgin too. Gonna be fun, I don't know many chants either so I suppose I'll have to go with the flow.

lildave3 Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Anyone else do a double take at the title, I was shocked to be asked to Spit On Virgins No.
lcfc_jme Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 I used to be a big-time player in the Kop in my home-attending days. I've now passed the buck to lildave3. Him and Kimi.
fleckneymike Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Prepare to be amazed at how little atmosphere there is. If your very lucky some rhythmical hand clapping will take place. You could liven your afternoon up by seeing how long it takes to be spoken to by a steward having taken your seat. I've got a personal best of 15 seconds. My crime? Standing up prior to kick off to allow people to their seats. If I continued such anti social conduct? Ejection from the stadium. The irony. The steward had to wait 30 seconds to go back to his position because we were both standing to allow more people past me.
foxoffderby Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 Good luck soldier, it's a real jungle in there. Just like the Eighties. mate that made be laugh big time....brings back memories of when Man City used to come down in the mid 80's. Its the only time ive seen our fans feeling intimidated inside and outside the ground on our own patch. There were some hard bastards from Moss side. To the young lad, you've got nothing to worry about. Just enjoy your day you'll get used to chants etc the more you go.

If it rains does the rain blow into SK2, hence will i need a waterproof see answer 3 5. Is there any precise moment i need to stand up Yes, to let mr weak-bladder through every five minutes 6. Should i bring a flask of Tea - See answer 1 7. Is there a Mr Big, that i should'nt annoy - one fella called bernie as a mentalist, look at him the wrong way and you'll be walking home with a stab wound Thanking you in advance
Poakey Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 You'll get in the kop, you'll be impressed by the amount of people standing, when the players come out theres a slight buzz, there about to kick off and you feel the atmosphere just starting to build, then the ref blows to start the match and everyone sits down and moans for 45 mins. Its great stuff.
Guest Posted 7 August 2009 Posted 7 August 2009 You'll walk into the Spion Kop, you'll hear a mighty roar. But you won't.
