lou Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Hurrah nice evening.Dominated the game. N'Guessan could have played better, but then scored a back heel so I will let him off. Adams looked very good. Steve's mad running about at one point closing down from one side of the pitch to the other to finally crunch someone in the middle was one of the best moments of the game. yeah I commented to Lisa at that point... "not bad for a lazy bastard!" He never stopped running and showed some pace at that point Was amusing to see some folk that had been slating him on Saturday all of a sudden treating him like the new Messiah.. fickle lot! Was a bit of a walkover but they gave it a good go (Macclesfield) we had loads of chances and always nice to be at the right end for the goals. Had a good laugh and got to see a few new FTers... some of whom were a surprise Am kicking myself now for not introducing myself to one but will save that for the next game. Need to have a few words with that person.

That was brilliant! That was up there with Wellens' cheeky cross and N'Guessan's even cheekier opener! I thought Howard had a good game yesterday, and he really wanted to score.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Not a lot else to say really. Nice and comfortable, a typical Pearson performance against a lesser team. Solid, Professional and dominant. Stood right at the front just to the right of the goal. Prise to the lad standing next to me who was giving it a go all game trying to get the crowd going. But it was 'only' a cup match, and I never fully expected the crowd to be going for 90 minutes. Ipswich however will/should be a different story.
Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 How was O'Neil? Does he look capable of playing at championship level?
surrifox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Was a good night, looking shaaaaaaaaarp.Personal highlight was throwing the toilet roll on the pitch. Bring on next Tuesday for more fun and games. Sky Sports News Summariser: "Highlight of the first half?- someone throwing a toilet roll at the goalkeeper" then as an afterthought "Not that Sky Sports advocates that sort of behaviour"

Toby or not Toby Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Nicky Adams corners looked of better quality than Oakleys on the highlights program
Katy Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Lovely result. Good day all round really. I think I'm a little bit in love with Steve Howard. Nice to see Tom Cleverley outside the ground as well.
Asha Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 How was O'Neil? Does he look capable of playing at championship level? Championship level will be a big test for him, but against last nights opposition he was composed, didn't really put a foot wrong, and was part of a very strong defence. Definately a talented player for the future.

Corky Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Delighted to get through with no real scare, looked a very professional performance on the highlights. Great to see Fryatt get his first goal of the season too.
Thracian Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 There were two or three wits next to me who arrived late but did their best to liven the atmosphere. One gave a commendable solo rendition related to Rams' fans sexuality which would have much frustrated the gay lobby that seems so keen to use football as a tool for its own ends! Another lit a cigarette and quickly had a steward alongside him insisting that Macclesfield took their smoking policy seriously! "Any chance we could discuss the matter while I finish it," he teased. I'm beginning to wonder if all northern outposts are the same. Derelict mills and similar workhouses, streets with every pub boarded up and offered for auction, little chance of decent food anywhere near the ground - it was all a bit like Stockport. We ended up at a licensed graveyard on the outskirts of Macc which was all but empty, served a grudging pint, pronounced that they don't serve food after 9.30 (it was 10-ish) and had no-one in sight capable of rustling up a few rolls or sandwiches. Customer service? They hadn't got a clue and deserved their empty tables. I'm tempted to take my own stove and steak for my next trip north of Birmingham. My youngest does nothing but kip on the journey anyway - it'll give him something to do!
Ford Super Sunday Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 That would have been me then, sir. To be fair, I did suspect it was you, but I wasn't gonna be radical and actually talk to you
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 http://www.skysports.com/football/match_re...3155337,00.html It was all going so well until the last line......................
Flynny Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 I'd love to see big Conrad up front. The bandwagon starts here. Oh and did anyone see Elvis Hammond's goal? I think the commentator was quite generous to say he "turned it into the net".
Asha Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 To be fair, I did suspect it was you, but I wasn't gonna be radical and actually talk to you What made you suspect it was me? Oh and my mate the other side of me was Granno, he's also on here.

I remember you from queuing for tickets last season, I remember seeing you, and then mentioning you were there on here after. Memory is an amazing thing

Tommeh Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 .... is gay? Not at all. Just though I'd give him a mention. Slightly heroic that.
