Ultra Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Job done. Could have had 6, but 2 were aways gonna be enough. All the team were solid but Adams and O'Neill deserve special mention. Adams should also keep his place for Saturday. Fans were subdued but woke up once we scored. Bring on a Prem side in ropund 2!
Toby or not Toby Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 2 goals scored 0 conceeded, sounded a professional job On to round 2
Hitesh Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Nicely done by the sounds of it. We created lots of chances and got the job done. Bring on round 2!
Collymore Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Nice to have a manager who is encouraging competition in other positions other than right back!
demon_dog Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Must look out for Fez's report. Well done lads, hope we get a decent tie in the next round.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Nice to see Fryatt back at his best. Cov 0-1 Hartlepool! Get in!
manchester_foxes_fan Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 *cough* Coventry 0-1 Hartlepool sorry dont know where to put it, move if you need to
Blueasafox Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 I saw O'Neill at Mansfield and come on as a sub V Real Villadolid He looked very composed .... could only listen tonight on Radio
bjblyth Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Great game. Could have had more goals but I enjoyed myself! Besides having the free tickets, free food and great seats - I also won the half time raffle draw and won £203! Bonus! Some good football from both teams and to be honest we did well to get 2-0 tonight because it was the best performance I've seen from Macclesfield Town in a long time. I was sat on the table next to Micky Adams... Not sure why he'd be there!?
Unknown Fox Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 According to sky sports we had all the chances - "Leicester might have added more goals at the death with substitute Conrad Logan seeing a drive cleared off the line." They must have been poor

Hugo Sanchez Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Happy with the result because alot of the championships team have been getting knocked out by lower league teams but we done our job well tonight. Also the people who slag Fraytt off, wait till you see his goal. Steve Howard
Collymore Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 just seen the goals, Fryatt's finish was brilliant but the defender running with him was slower than my grandma, and she's not even with us anymore.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 just seen the goals, Fryatt's finish was brilliant but the defender running with him was slower than my grandma, and she's not even with us anymore. Still faster tha n Howard then ...

Toby or not Toby Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 BBC1 in 10 minutes, featured match. Loving the BBC atm! EDIT: now hate them, sound problems!
tbf Posted 12 August 2009 Posted 12 August 2009 Enjoyed tonight very much, pretty quiet first half. Dominated pretty much the whole game, good passing but really should have pressed home our advantage against a weaker team. Adams showed promise on the left, but still much to learn. Howard played his usual self but a little off the boil I felt. Fryatt seemed to lack confidence...until... On the break away he should have hit it early, once that opportunity had passed i was screaming at him to square it to another oncoming player, i forget who, since they were unmarked and in a much better position. Fryatt work hard to make an angle and then belted it into the top of the net. Real corker of a shot, definitely proved something to himself and can only do him good. Waghorn didn't set the stage on fire but had some nice plays. Gradel performed well when he came on. First goal was a bit messy, ending up in an N'guessan back-heal into the net but I can't wait to see Fryatt's goal again. Difficult to get an atmosphere going due to lack of roof and we didn't really pack out the terrace very well, also the lack of serious competition meant it wasn't to tense at any point. One rasping shot straight to Weale and one shot that hit the bar are the only of their chances that spring to mind. £2 match programme is the worst value I have ever seen. Anyway, good performance and enjoyable game.
