Thracian Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Apparently he played on Friday night for the under-21s. I thought he scored the winner for Stanley. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_3/8244104.stm Anyway he was down at the Academy this morning and looking as fit as I've seen it. Says he's enjoying his football at Stanley but it's not the same as being at Leicester.
lou Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 This weekend, this is how our loanees performed;Kee came on as a sub for last 20 mins for Accrington and scored Chambers didn't even make the bench for Wycombe but has not performed well since being loaned there Worley played all 90 for Crewe, whilst Verma didn't even make the bench - injured maybe? Sappleton played 68 mins for Macclesfield and scored again!!! Finally Levi Porter came on for the last 20 mins for Mansfield, and according to 1 of my mates, 'he struggled', that don't surprise me though, looks as though even Blue Square Premier level is too high for him!! Give the lad a chance hes not played a league game for months!
CosbehFox Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Chambers didn't even make the bench for Wycombe but has not performed well since being loaned there Chambers was at the City game today. As for Verma, Crewe have since got in Simon Walton from Plymouth Sheehan got a lot of mentions in the Oldham report but they suckered by a goal in the last minute or so. What's this Leeds loanee report?

Jimmy Posted 26 September 2009 Author Posted 26 September 2009 as mentioned Chambers scored a late equaliser for Wycombe last night Accy Stanny beat Crewe 5-3 with Kee getting on for the last 5 mins, Worley playing the lot and Verma not being used from the bench Craig King got 90 mins under his belt as Hereford lost 4-1 Sappleton came on after 82 mins as Macclesfield won 2-1 Mansfield won 3-2 with Porter coming on as a 57th min sub Weso was replaced after 73 mins as Hamilton lost 2-1 away at Hearts
Thracian Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Looks like Porter's not even good enough to get in the mansfield team! If Porter ever gets properly fit again I'd pick him ahead of Dyer or N'Guessan anytime. Porter's demonstrated that he can play Championship football but i'm not sure the other two can although N'Guessan still looks a more likely striker than winger to me.

Thracian Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 i swear you say stuff just to make people laugh. I could probably give a lot more reasons for saying that than you could for keeping either N'Guessan or Dyer in the side. People mention Chelsea as if it were Porter's only good game but he had a perfectly good and effective first season in the Championship - and even to the extent that opponents were doubling up on him. Porter made goals and even scored a few but first and foremost he was disciplined. He retained possession in tight situations, maintained our width and passed the ball accurately rather like Kingy. But both Dyer and N'Guessan often look lost in Championship football. Okay N'Guessan's scored two league goals and another in the cup - a reasonable return that only adds fuel to my argument that he's not a winger at all but more suited to a central striker's role. But other than his goals the bloke's been a liabiity for much of the time. Too often he runs with his head down and straight into defenders or some sort of blind alley. He seems to have no concept of linking up with other players or pushing the simple pass. I thought he'd be quick but he never seems to atack people at pace or with any apparent confidence that he'll beat them. The only times he looks dangerous are when he steals inside and get's close enough to goal for a header. As for Dyer he's like a cheap sparkler. He rackles for a few minutes then his brilliance fades and he looks like a dud for the rest of the time. What's happened to him I've no idea. It's almost as if he either has no confidence in himself or belief in what he's trying to achieve. As soon as a defender get's the measure of him he seems to be neutralised. While Gradel would try again and again until something happened, Dyer just seems to fade into the background. Porter had indifferent days but generally speaking he was persistent and reliable on the ball. He rarely had the ability to beat someone for pace but even if his marker stopped him going forward he was aware enough of team-mates to retain the ball or to make something happen from a corner or a free-kick. Furthermore his workrate in chasing back when we'd lost the ball was always good value. N'Guessan hardly gets involved in this aspect at all and Dyer is hardly influential or a workhorse that way either. I keep hoping to see the real Dyer re-emerge but he seems long gone now and my underlying optimism seems less and less justified. Indeed I don't think I've ever seen Porter play as badly as N'Guessan and Dyer on recent occasions.
CosbehFox Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 Indeed I don't think I've ever seen Porter play as badly as N'Guessan and Dyer on recent occasions. Tranmere at home last season. Porter disappeared.
MPH Posted 27 September 2009 Posted 27 September 2009 ramblings of a deranged man porter is lazy, has a bad attitude and does not show the discipline needed to play for leicester. simple.
