Just seems like something I'd really enjoy doing and I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about it really?

All we had to do was a few weeks course in p.e lessons on CPR and that, and we had to sign the piece of paper, and we got our certificates come the end of the term. Easiest qualification I've ever got. I remember once at a festival, me and my mate were playing football between the bands, and these 6/7 year olds joined in. That got me thinking of starting up a team. I could picture in my mind where i'd play each and every one of them! Good luck with it anyway, mate!
Capt Kaos Posted 21 August 2009 Posted 21 August 2009 I did it in the states, I coached Boys U15 travel and High School Girls, don't know how the Coach badges compare to over here but I did the classes and got to a level C (They go from E to A) It's well worth it in my opinion.
AyewJoking Posted 21 August 2009 Posted 21 August 2009 Level one in junior team management. Was a few years ago but quite easy. Did it at Holmes Park, Blaby. Cant remember how much it was as I won a competition so it was free! Theres a bit of theory including basic first aid which you get a certificate for and a theory test which is easy because they tell you what kind of questions will be in the test. The practical side is easy too. You learn several of the simple warm up, training sessions aimed at young players and at the end you take charge of one of these sessions using the other guys that are on the course. The course is a few hours every day for a week or so and you get a box load of training equipment when you pass.

I saw countless examples of that sort of thing when I was a coach. And the number of people who turned up on courses expecting to get a badge who couldn't play, communicate, demonstrate or organise was quite disheartening really. You reap what you sow I suppose.

I have that as well but we had to teach some year 7's in PE and the sports leadership person had to come and mark you down. We had to fill in a book ourselves and then that was it. I would like to have all the coaching badges but I think they are £60.00 per badge.

Ashley Posted 21 August 2009 Posted 21 August 2009 I'm sure if your allifiated with a football team they can put you foward to do your coaching badges(for free?), i've been thinking about taking mine this year. I think so anyway or at a cheaper price
