G.Dewis – 113 * G.Lineker – 103 * J.Lee – 97 * M.Stringfellow – 97 * J.Duncan – 95

D.Liddle – 92 * J.Walsh – 92 * S.Smith – 85 * A.Smith – 84 * M.Griffiths – 79

F.Worthington – 78 * K.Keyworth – 76 * J.Bowers – 71 * A. Maw – 64 * S.Walsh – 62

S,Lynex – 60 * F.Shinton – 58 * J.Sinclair – 53 * D.Gibson – 53 * H.Addock – 52

G.McAllister – 51 * M.Fryatt – 50 * T.King – 50

Fryatt will be the first that many on here will have witnessed because they've been pretty thin on the ground.

I've seen 12 of them, 5 in the 60's, 1 in the early 70s, 5 throughout the 80's including Walsh into the 90s. Fryatt being the only one since Walshy. Reflects what a shitty period the naughties have been.

Of those the 6 highest scorers were out and out strikers the others being made up of 3 wingers, 2 mid-fielders and 1 defender

Perhaps also an indication of how difficult it has become to actually score goals - not sure about that though could just be Leicester City :P

also indicative of the ever decreasing commitment of players and clubs to each other...

I knew Walsh scored loads but didn't know it was 62! And was just listening to Serg (Kasabian) on Radio 1 and he said he has a huge 6ft canvas of Steve Walsh celebrating play-off goal against Derby in his kitchen lol.

Lynex- 60. Most of those would have been penalties - I'm surmising. From the days when we could expect to receive the occasional award after an assassination attempt in the penalty area

Oh how i wish i had one of those :P

I never realised that Fryatt had scored 50 goals for us... I suppose last season helped lol

Just seems rather ironic that he had to do it against Holloway, the manager that hated him lol

Yet ironically the 00's saw the sale of our most expensive striker and player of all time :S

That's a different A Lochead, Arthur according to Of foxes & fossils. Andy wasn't with us long enough to score that many.

Ah-ha that explains it- didn't think he was that prolific- thanks for that

Perhaps if Santa Claus is reading this he can add "Foxes and Fossils" to the stocking which will be hanging in the usual place

Wait until next year I believe there's an updated version coming out, including all the delights of the Taylor era and that which followed. apart from that it's a fantastic reference book.
