Edmund Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Argentina to go out tonight I think I can't wait for that game. Going to be a cracker.
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I can't wait for that game. Going to be a cracker. 6-6 and Palermo will miss 3 penalties (again).
BoneDog Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Is the Argies match on any Sky channel live later? I can't seem to find it anywhere
MC Prussian Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 And off we go to South Africa. What a crap match that was, though. Horrible. In a way, I just don't feel that cheerful.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Don't know what has happened to the super eagles in recent years. I seem to remember a large number of their team died in a plane crash a few years back.
Edmund Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Edit: Awful conditions too, I also think Maradona may be dead tomorrow after his 'Klinsman' dive across the pitch, especially with that heart. I was thinking exactly the same. Someone who supposedly has had a bad history of health conditions shouldn't be diving like that. 6-6 and Palermo will miss 3 penalties (again). I just looked that up. That was news to me. Apparently he also missed three pens in a Boca training match a few weeks ago. Is the Argies match on any Sky channel live later? I can't seem to find it anywhere It's on sky sports 1 later at 10:55PM
Edmund Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I seem to remember a large number of their team died in a plane crash a few years back. I'm pretty sure that wasn't Nigeria.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I'm pretty sure that wasn't Nigeria. You're right - I just checked and it was Zambia.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I can't wait for that game. Going to be a cracker. Same here! I remember the pain of watching fat boy punch the ball past our Shilts in 1986. Come on Uruguay and Ecuador
Corky Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Slovakia qualify for their first ever World Cup finals, knocking out the Czech Republic in the process.
Edmund Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Same here!I remember the pain of watching fat boy punch the ball past our Shilts in 1986. Come on Uruguay and Ecuador It also goes to show that you can't just pick ex legends to manage club or country. I wonder if he will still be viewed as God if they fail to qualify.
Wycombe Fox Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 It also goes to show that you can't just pick ex legends to manage club or country. I wonder if he will still be viewed as God if they fail to qualify. As a player he was incredible (until the later, drug-fuelled years) but as a manager...he's such a mess I wouldn't put him in charge of the TV remote let alone a national football team.
Guest Bilo Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 As much as I would love to see Leo Messi strutting his stuff at the World Cup, I will laugh till I faint if Argentina don't qualify.
Guest Bilo Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Rather more disappointed by the eliminations of Croatia and Turkey though. Czech Republic and Sweden are surprise failures as well.
Fox You Forest Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 If they qualify tonight do they have the balls to sack him anyway because if they don't they won't be challenging next year. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when/if he picks his squad for SA, how does he choose out of the 80 odd players he's used.
BoneDog Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 It's on sky sports 1 later at 10:55PM Crackerjack. Don't know how I missed that!
Fox You Forest Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 It needs a goal badly or even an Ecuador goal, very dull so far.
Edmund Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 It needs a goal badly or even an Ecuador goal, very dull so far. Only highlight really was when Argentina nearly conceded a calamity goal when the keeper ran out. To be fair he did well, the defence looked at blame.
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Indeed. Argentina have done ok, Di Maria is looking bright and Mascherano is breaking up play. Uruguay have surprised me, they don't seem up for it. Oh and fook off Francis.
Fox You Forest Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 If I hide under my shirt maybe he won't send me off.
Darkzzz_ Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 Yes. Now hold on, qualify and Maradona please go.
