Breaking news on ssn. Inevitable really. Feel sorry for the guy but they have obviously had someone lined up for a while.

Well thats stupid. He had them playing some really good football.

Who's the next gaffer then??

Any Bets?

Sven will take over for the next few games i reckon and they will try and install an ex big name player as manager, which will fail as he won't have the experience of the lower leagues to guide them up.

although he will try and pump for a few big name players,

NOTTS County manager Ian McParland's reign at Meadow Lane is over.

The Magpies boss has parted company with the club following yesterday's 2-2 home draw with Torquay United.

Notts currently lie fifth in League Two but following the arrival of new owners Munto Finance and their ambitious plans for the club, McParland's reign in the Meadow Lane hot seat has been brought to an end.

He took over in October 2007 and fought a relegation battle last season.

But with the injection of fresh money and the arrival of former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson at the club, expectations have risen massively.

Why is it stupid? Surely the best squad in the league and they're still not doing very well.

It was inevitable.

Not at all suprised, but doesn't mean it is the right decision. There is just no faith in football nowadays is there? I presume they have a 'big name' lined up who has no knowledge of the lower leagues. That should do them good....!

This football blog has the opinions of a Notts County player who says he is 'shocked' at the decision. I presume the reaction of the players as a whole should be very interesting? They were probably very happy with how things were.

I don't think it'll be Sven. He's going to leave 'by mutual consent' to go and manage Sweden after they fail to qualify for the World Cup Finals, in my opinion.

Agreed. I can't see him being there for the long-term.
