Worst Away End In Football

Seriously?

I thought it was great, proper old school end. Plus excellent stewarding meant standers went behind the goal and sitters stayed down the side.

I was bloody freezing that day, that wind! and no matter how hard you screamed it seemed impossible to generate an atmosphere, that's the trouble with open top terracing.

Loved the wet side / dry side tho!

the facilities

Thought Bizzle Rovers was shite solely on the fact they wouldn't let us in any boozers before the game and had a shit marquee!

Great atmosphere at that one tho. Howard having a rant at Philips lol Howards gonna get ya!

Common sense stewarding? :S

I'm gonna have to lie down...

Agree the facilities at Swindon were shocking. But the stewarding was top notch, and the chav in the burberry hat :crylaugh:

Never seen a steward cry before that day. lol

Withdean is a bang of wank. MK Dons is woeful as well.

I quite like Bramall Lane. And Ninian Park too.

London Road. Moyes End terrace.

Overcrowded shithole with toilets that would embarrass a Thai prison.

Not sure if has been developed yet but Blackpool's away end was so shit that it was actually good.

They have completed the third side now...just doing the internal fit. Although, the away fans will be moved...I suspect they will keep up the Golf Stand because it's one of the most sold out away ends in the division (even Cov managed it!)

Good shout.

Do they not do that now then?

It depends on the allocation they give. If one of the big clubs plays, side stand. If it's one of the smaller boys, behind the goal (and cheaper).

Has to be Peterborough. The lack of ladies facilities was compounded by being dragged out of the then empty gent's loos.

Yeah forgot about Peterboro.. that terracing was so overcrowded I was actually dreading us scoring... someone would definately have been injured. My Daughter got knocked to the ground when we missed by miles ffs! Ive never felt so uncomfortable at a football match in my 30 years of attending.

So surely the fault wasn't with the actual away end, it was with the ticketing policy there. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Moyes in the admittedly smaller following from the Dons despite the arctic conditions, Icicles on me nose I had! Oldham and the Withdean are far worse.

Worst - Mk, Withdean.

Best - Selhurst, Orient.

Also Ash is completely talking out his arse about Hillsborough. Can't really be bothered to debate it however.

My opinion mate, how many city fans think Hillsborough is a decent away game ? Apart from the final. Its just a big empty ground. The away is stupidly big and their fans never sing apart from when they score. Their kop isn't as good as sheff utds and i'm not even on a wind up. Sheff Wed is boring.

Also 22,000 a game, so there's 18,000 empty seats

I respect it's your opinion mate, Just feel you'd need to try it out fully.

For example when we go with City it's always 1,500 odd and I admit you're a bit lost in that upper tier and the noise doesn't travel at all from the Kop.

Fully utalise that whole end however like Sheff United do, Newcastle will and I believe Barnsley (5,500) and Forest (4,000) did this season and it's a cracker.

It's the same argument you can't hear us/we can't hear you thing at Hillsborough like we get at the Walkers, never really heard Wednesday fans when in the away end but didn;t hear a peep out of Cardiff the other week and the Kop was very decent.

Just think it's a bit harsh bringing it up amongst then new builds and Brighton

Oh and anyone mentioning Peterborough is talking nonsense, one of THE very best. Same with oldham.

The problem is that no-one in the City crowd that day had ever stood in a mass terrace before and the stewarding didn't help. Once the game kicked off, people just stood in gangways as opposed to actually moving to the top.

I remember us losing 4-0 on final day with a massive following. Decent atmosphere regardless of the result. All around the ground in fact. One of the few majestic, grand stadiums left.

I remember that day. It was the day I found out I was seriously allergic to grass. Not only did I suffer with the result, but I had blisters down the backs of my legs.

It was my birthday and O'Neill's last match. Gilles De Bilde scored against us, they invaded the pitch despite being relegated before the game even kicked off.

I've never been impressed with Ipswich's away section.

Possibly because I've put near the back on a couple of occasions and every time the ball went ten feet in the air it disappeared out of sight.
