mmarkie Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 Weale Neilson Hobbs Brown Berner N'Guessan Oakley© Wellens Dyer Waghorn Gallagher
caz123 Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 WealeNielson Hobbs Brown McGivern N'Guessan Wellens King Gally Waghorn Kermorgrant Why has Nobody got McGivern in the teams?!?!?! He had to keep up with Jobi Mcanuff, with his skill & pace and he hardly had a sniff past Ryan. Him and Nielson were my MOTM's yesterday. Oh yeah, Oakleys Crap. Oakley is not crap,he is being played in the wrong place
Simi Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 I've been thinking about mine and I reckon the criticism is right, we will need more width to protect our full backs and nullify the QPR wingers. Here's my modified one: ---------------- Weale --------------- Neilson -- Hobbs -- Brown -- Berner Oakley -- Wellens -- King -- Dyer ------- Gallagher ------ Fryatt ------- Would rather drop Waghorn and bring him on later in the game. Harsh given he scored on Monday but necessary given the opposition. This will also give Gallagher a chance to play up front. Surprised to see a few dropping King, I think we'll need him on Friday. I'd go with that. However, Fryatt is seriously going to have to start putting away some chances. Now Howard has been dropped, it's vital he doesn't let his form slip and stop scoring. Because, for me, it's one of the only things that keeps him in the team.
iancognito Posted 29 October 2009 Posted 29 October 2009 I don't think McGivern tackled Kebe once when he came on. Berner has been one of our most consistent performers this season. I think the only reason McGivern has played the last 2 games is because Man City have been putting pressure on us to play him. If i was NP i'd tell Mark Hughes to F*$! Off. I can't imagine Pearson would let another club dictate to him who plays in the team. We had this last season with David Martin IIRC. Nige gave him a run and because it took a while for someone to replace him/him get injured (I don't remember which happened first) people were chipping in that apparently Benitez had been insisting that Pearson keep him in. Do you think Pearson's given Grayson a call and insisted he gives Gradel a regular run-out? Unlikely. Had Mark Hughes done the same then NP would have told him where to stick his average youth team left back.

What an absolutely shit team we had back then. Our current squad is a million times better, and we have good strength in depth. However, QPR are probably better than they used to be too!
chesterfox Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Don't think NP will go with this formation - but it will be a tough game tonight Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Bruno King Gallagher Oakley Wellens Dyer Fryatt The flexibility of most of these players is the key ie Gallagher can go next to Fryatt, Dyer can track back to Bruno, Morrison can provide back up to both Hobbs and Gallagher - a lot of work from Fryatt but more likely to get a result this way. In any case anything but Oakley on the right!!!
willchafer Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 weale neilson hobbs brown berner n'guesson oakley wellens gallagher waghorn howard play oakley in the right position for gods sake! i think i might cry
JimmyJam Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 What about this kind of formation against QPR, Oakley back in the centre where he should be with N'Guesson and Gallagher supporting Fryatt. If Fryatt doesn't start taking his chances again soon though i think Kermo/DJ/waghorn all deserve more match time. ...............................Weale.................................. Neilson...........Hobbs............Brown.............Berner ..................Oakley...Wellens...King....................... N'Guesson..............................................Gallagher ...............................Fryatt...................................
Joe. Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 I'd like to see: Weale Neilson --- Hobbs --- Brown --- Berner Oakley --- King --- Wellens --- N'Guessan Gallagher/Fryatt --- Waghorn Tough decision up front regarding Fryatt, and one I can't make unfortunately.
Corky Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 Oakley is not crap,he is being played in the wrong place Disagree, I thought last season he looked better on the right side of midfield rather than the middle, so it has worked before. He's going through a period of poor form, I'm sure he'll improve.

Not enough pace, move Gallagher to the center and play Waghorn or Dyer on the left. Give Fryatt a break. Otherwise, good to go. BTW....... No hoof!
maddog Posted 30 October 2009 Posted 30 October 2009 30 minutes until we know the team. Lets hope the pace of some of Dyer, Adams, Waghorn, Campbell, Kermo is used.
