Team changes v QPR

I didn't hear Andy Kings name at all in the game only when he took that shot just over the bar, apart from that nothing. Oakley had a poor game yesterday he made a couple of rash clearances, he never really made any runs his passing was poor (slightly improved second half) but overall not good enough, and we need Berner back for McGivern who was dreadful last night!

Neilson (Just!)

Berner

Oakley

King

Wellens

Gallagher

Waghorn

Fryatt

Subs: Howard, DJ, Kermo, N'Guessan, McGivern, Morrison, Logan.

Although I admit Oakley hasnt been playing well, he is still the captain and must still be considered a vital part of the team. I am unsure about Neilson, whilst Fryatt has not been playing well lately bur has to stay in for the fact he is top scorer.

id go for something a bit different. i just can help but see qpr have similar domination and chances to reading last night, but they will finish this time (hopefully not though)

i think if we played with 1 or even 2 playing behind the striker its going to give gavin mahon something to think about beyond picking up the pieces and simply feeding routledge and taarabt and i think it might help to solve the complete bipass of the midfield which we struggled with last night!

whether waghorn would play that role im not so sure? perhaps a better fit for howard (who looked better last night as he was bringing the hoofs down onto his chest) but im sure waggy would do his usual dickov type role of chasing everything down and just being a bully! which in turn could create a bit of space for gally and n'guessan ( who i think could do well if hes given a chance to prove himself again on friday).

whatever happens, i dont want to recognise the fact they have real attacking flair and just turn up and play. I want to give qpr a real kick up the arse and make them see that they are not the only ones who can score goals on their day!

one thing is for sure, nige has some thinking to do and i wouldnt be surprised however if we see kermie at some point on friday!

NOT OAKLEY HE NEVER PLAYS THERE, AND LEAVES US WITH NO RIGHT WINGER!!!

Oakley

Campbell

I would swap Campbell for Fryatt, Berner for McGivern, and King for N'Guessan or Adams with Oakley playing centre mid.

Nice...

Though I would push N'Guessan and Waghorn slightly wide with Gallagher between then as the focus of the attack. Gallagher likes to drop off and pick up the ball played into feet, so N'Guessan and Waghorn need to get past him and stretch the defense both front to back and side to side.

Also Gallagher is currently our most creative forward player, we need to get him on the ball as much as we can!

Also, please. please no hoofball....

It could work, i wouldn't do it against QPR though, due to the fact they play the ball out wide to Routledge alot, which would pen back our full back (depending on which side he pops up) leaving us playing more narrowly then we're playing already.

As long as we don't try and shoe horn in a flat midfield 4 out of Gallalgher, Wellens, Oakley and King then I really don't mind. Gallagher should be playing No.10 with Fryatt and Waghorn ahead of him, good mix of a passer a channel runner and a on the shoulder player, sort out the rest of the midfield to stop QPR and switch the full backs to Morrison and Berner.

Not if you tell Waghorn that he is in the side to run the channels, something that he is very good at.

Neilson - Hobbs - Brown - Berner

N'Guessen - Oakley - Wellens - Dyer

Waggy - Gally

Simple. No square pegs. In form strikers, no target man, real wingers, real full backs.

Looked very disjointed against reading yesterday, oakley surely can`t play as a right winger again he looked like a lost lamb last nite! put oakley back in the middle of the park with wellens and let them pull the strings there, Andy king did nothing of note for me yesterday so he needs to be dropped to the bench, I would love to see us play both Dyer and nguessan against qpr, well lacked width yesterday and any real pace. My line up would be.

Weale

Neilson - I thought he was a lot better than people give him credit for last night, made some important challenges.

Hobbs

Brown

Berner

Dyer

Oakley

Wellens

Gallagher

howard

Fryatt

I think that's both realistic and effective. The worst thing about it is the lack of width but I think adding N'Guessan would create more problems than it solves. It really needs Fryatt and Waghorn to provide the width and stretch the defence, with Gallagher in a slightly deeper central role, somewhere I think he could be very dangerous

The thing that worries me about the diamond is that QPR have good wingers that will exploit the lack of pace of berner and neilson. 4-4-2 with two proper wingers is required.

In that formation the width needs to come from the front men, N'Guessan or Dyer in for Fryatt for me,

Gallagher needs to stay well forward to occupy the center backs then drop off to do his thing, none of this attacking midfield/point of the diamond nonsense. He does his best work around the edge of the box, so that is where he needs to be.

I've got a sneaky suspicion Mcgivern will keep his place at left back with Berner at left midfield. We all know QPR's main threat is the wingers so width is essential which might see us with one striker up front with Gallagher playing in a 5 man midfield whilst advancing as cover for the lone striker.
