Plymouth Pete Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Consensus from the 700 odd who went from here is that there was only one team who looked like winning, and we (Argyle) were lucky to get away with a 1 - 0 defeat. But we nearly got an undeserved point.

marbelladave Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Squad Rotation! Giving Gallagher and Yanni a start in a game we were supposed to win with some ease is the only conceivable reason for our bizarre starting lineup. In addition Gallagher played like he knew it was a 'token' start and that he would be back on the bench next week, absolutely no presence whatsoever, easily his worse game for us.... In contrast I thought Yanni was pretty decent, though he was still played too deep for me. I think he should play 'up top' and drop off to link up play rather than starting from deep. Like to see more of him.... Just a thought but did NP catch Lloyd Dyer pissing in his cornflakes?
Ozwin Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 At least you left knowing that your 724 made more noise than 26000 of us! Don't be silly.
Manderic's pants Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 I wasn't at the game, but from what the BBC were saying (not radio Leics BTW) it was supposed to be a good game! Whenever they cut the commentator, he referred to Fryatt's ridiculous miss early on but then a host of other chances (Wellens, Berner, Gallagher) that Plymouth were lucky to get away with - including a goal line clearance. I could be wrong, we may well have been terrible, but the BBC commentator at the match said it was a 'cracking game'....
lildave3 Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Oh, and what was Birch on yesterday! Asking where the parade was when it'd been and gone, he'd lost the plot.
lou Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 you talking about Black Eyed Peas i Gotta Feeling??i love that song! would actually bum myself if they had that as goal music what a shit game though..... but any game is awesome in my eyes where you score a 93rd minute winner GET IN! Lyrics are uplifting and very apt I think! Personally I couldnt give a toss what they play as long as it aint Chelsea Dagger
lildave3 Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 I gotta feeling is only acceptable if it's the FMIF remix.
Plymouth Pete Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 At least you left knowing that your 724 made more noise than 26000 of us! Ever since "that" advert everyone seems to be chanting "Green Army" "Its a long old poke"
lou Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Ever since "that" advert everyone seems to be chanting "Green Army" "Its a long old poke" you lot must be truely sick of that! I lost count of the amount of times I heard them on the way from and back to the pub.
Ashley Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Am I the only one who thought yesterday was shite considering all the hype about the 125th anniversary fixture? The club didnt do didly squat for the fans, they could of gave us scarfs or tshirts to wear at the game
foxaholic Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 what the hell were you watching? we battered them all game! Its just our chances we didnt take. Their goalie made a few saves too I suggest you stop away or visit spec savers
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 A win, yes. However this was a pathetic result. One goal, just, against pure mediocrity. We have a major problem up front, and if it is not resolved in January, we will be out of the race for promotion. This was apparent from the start of the season. We need quality, and I hope M.M. procuces the extra cash in January, but I doubt it. I know we are currently third, and many people will knock me ( as usual }. I don't care, so go ahead, but remember, we will need to be massive up front if we make the play offs, to have a realistic chance of going up this season. Great defence though.

The club didnt do didly squat for the fans, they could of gave us scarfs or tshirts to wear at the game It was just a ploy to sell some tickets because the club knew that this wasn't an attractive fixture, once they get that ticket sale they're not really bothered after that. Tbf to the club some of the deals they've done recently have been quite good, and I weren't too bothered that the club didn't do anything on the day, after all I go to see the 90 minutes of football nowt else.

Yeah, probably because you're a tedious ****. The best teams will all have their off days and scramble a 1-0 win. I was delighted to see the boys playing right up to the final whistle - that's more encouraging than anything we saw yesterday. We know our lads can pass a football, we know we can score goals and we know we can play either a fast pacey game, or a long hoof game if necessary. What we didn't know until yesterday is that after 5 years of turmoil, we finally got another Leicester City team that will bust a gut for their manager and keep trying to get that goal until the whistle goes. You can see if you were down the match (guessing you weren't...) how much it meant to all the lads when we scored. Now piss off.
Ultra Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 Genuine question - if we did go up, how many of Saturday's starting line-up would be able to cut it in the top flight? Weale, Waghorn, maybe Hobbs, and, er, that's it..

Neilson, Howard and Fryatt would prove themselves to be great I reckon. I have always thought Logan had potential too.
lou Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/sport/Lowr...il/article.html? What a twat! You came here and didnt even play to win then bitch about one decision and make out the ref gave you nothing all game which is total bollocks! Ermmm handball, penalty?? Not given!? Shut up you bitter little man and accept that you just werent good enough.

Not forgetting several off-sides the linesman gave against us, one against Waghorn was so bad as Waghorn ran at least 2 metres to catch up and overtake the player to get to the ball first the linesman being unable to catch up with play and lacking concentration..

Babylon Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 Strange game really, It felt like we were playing with one arm tied behind our back due to the lack of wingers. But when we brought one on we stopped retaining possession in the final third as much as we had been. We can play better, but we still deserved to win against a very poor Plymouth!!
Ford Super Sunday Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 Christ Almightly, it's a good job we didn't lose 1-0, I fear some of you would have committed suicide judging by the reactions to a WIN. A win is a win, it can be as scrappy as you like, but it was a WIN. Of course we're not perfect, we're not gonna roll every team over. And of course there's room to imporve, players didn't perform to their full standard, but when you have a team parking the proverbial bus, it's never gonna be pretty football and a glut of goals. And if Plymouth come to defend, they aren't gonna fold like a pack of cards after five minutes, just because we're at home. Not to mention our strikers aren't exactly prolific. We're third (though you wouldn't believe it when you read some reactions) and that's flucking fantastic. The only three teams we have lost to this season are very good to brilliant for this division. I no longer fear anyone in this division, and it's kind of a compliment that a team, established in the CCC comes to a PROMOTED side and feels the only way to get anything is to stick 11 men behind the ball and show no ambition. Maybe we're starting to scare the shit out of opposition. I'm not complaining if we are.

Shut up you bitter little man and accept that you just werent good enough. what is 'disgraceful' is moaning about the sort of decision that is rarely anything other than 50/50, and right or wrong if they can't defend a corner in the 94th minute then that is their shortcoming, not the ref's... '2nd clean sheet of the season' obviously what comes from putting 10 men behind the ball every game!
Guest Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 The fact that he says they 'defended from the front' says everything you need to know about PA in that match
