What an absolutely terrible ref eh? I swear we get the worst ones in the country for our games.

Nothing beats 93rd minute goals though, I'd resigned to us drawing a game we should've won and then Kingy pops up :D It made the journey home in the rain bareable.

they're all equally shit/corrupt. they're all instructed to fix matches by the fa because the fa believe that it was the match fixing that caused italy to win the world cup in 06.

I thought he was a great ref when he booked their player for diving. I couldn't see our penalty claim from where I was standing.

brilliant reflex save by their defender. Gordon Banks would have been proud.

Not sure where everyone was playing.

Think we needed wingers really. N'Guessan for example was ace when he came on.

Otherwise, ok.

Need to be better though and break teams like Plymouth down.

Oh, and, it was great to see loyal fans. Fair play to Plymouth fans.

I think a shout out is warranted for Kermorgants awesome tackle on the right wing.

Also, Gallagher punching the air in celebration after the game towards the kop was awesome. I like a bit of passion.

You drove home in the nude? :P

Mixed bag of a game really, I thought they edge a very scrappy first 20 mins, we then managed to get in the game and with so many players in CM dominated the rest of the half with out really creating anything remotely incisive.

2nd half we were mostly in control but again created very little with them looking dangerous on the break until they got within sight of goal.

Fortunate to get a scrappy goal in the end but I guess that's a result of persistence rather than quality football.

A wins a win and 3 points and I've got a nose bleed in 3rd place.

Poor game, 0-0 would have been the fair result. Must have been about 2 shots (generous estimate) on target all game. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to put out a more disjointed team than Ian Holloway managed during his time here but Pearson succeeded that. The problem is, now we've won, he's unlucky to address the major major problems from today.
What chances? What saves? Battering a team isn't the same as sideways passing for 2 mins before an aimless chip into the box. As usual we just hoped for 80 minutes a goal would just come and realising it wouldn't, once again at home we crank up the pressure in the last 5/10 minutes.

we had 7 shots on target and 9 off target... that answers your questions about what shots and what saves.

Should have won more comfortably, crap referee performance, Nielson is always improving, and the defence are palying really well.

My only worry at this stage of the season is the lack of goals we have scored.

Great 3 points, disjointed performance. We played into their hands with the 4 central midfielders/attackers playing in midfield. We were crying out for some wingers and I felt Pearson left it far too late before making the changes. Kermogant looks like he could be the mobile target man we desperately need (Howard was poor even in his 10 minute cameo), but again Pearson played both him and Gallagher out of position.

I felt sorry for Neilson and Berner - they were expected to be our wingers and defenders and had no support at all. Berner can handle this pressure but Neilson looks like he's exposed without a winger supporting him.

We deserved the win because we were the better team and were the ones actually trying to win, but the tactics were simply wrong in my opinion.

It's a new-fangled position called the 'wing-back'. You may hear more about it in future as other teams adopt similar positional tactics.

Agreed, Yann and Gallagher up front for me, with Dyer and Nguessan/Oakley on the wings.

What was up with that stupid music before kick off instead of Hey Jude :dunno::angry:

I thought the same >_< . I thought it was a decent display today didn't really look like letting one in all game, Brown and Hobbs were solid as well as the full backs. Didn't create to many clear cut chances but we sneaked one in at the end and we're 3rd in the league so who cares :chant: !

Dunno if anyone has ventured onto the plymouth site but this article about the game is brilliant in places:

The comments about Gallagher being called Jedward made me chuckle in particular. Wouldnt mind something like that on our official site every now and then.

The Merc had a bit on Gallagher today and referred to him being called Jedward - http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/news/Jedward-...il/article.html

Lovely stuff. City would explode before letting someone sully their site with a similar match report.

Exactly. Honesty on any level is frowned upon at our club.
