Plymouth Argyle Post Match Thread

I just want to know where all the bitter and twisted Plymouth fans from last time we played have gone.

I honestly didn't think there would be a much worse team than Derby visiting the Walkers this season but Plymouth pulled it off to perfection. No ambition, no talent, no players, no chances and no hope of staying up. Yes we outplayed them, but there was only one team trying to play their way to victory today. Always difficult to play against a formation of 9-0-1 so not too worried we didn't rack up a cricket score.

Onwards and upwards for Scunny now, a decent result there and at Forest would put out a message.

What chances? What saves? Battering a team isn't the same as sideways passing for 2 mins before an aimless chip into the box. As usual we just hoped for 80 minutes a goal would just come and realising it wouldn't, once again at home we crank up the pressure in the last 5/10 minutes.

They had no shots on target until the 92nd minute. Yes, 1 shot on target in 92 minutes - that's shocking. And that went straight into Weale's hands.

We had a shot cleared off the line. Another was tipped off the bar by their keeper and other half-chances. All in all, we were the better side and deserved to win. But we were very average considering how good we can actually play.

Wasn't a classic, but we deserved the win. Kept going until the end and eventually got the goal.

Nothing better than last-minute winners, and third in the table. Superb :D

Fantastic attitude that kept us going to the end.... :appl: :appl:

Everything else was pretty piss poor.

Some half decent performances from several players but as a coherent attacking side we were woeful for a top 6 side playing a bottom 6 side.

Our shape was awful and we really did not appear to have any idea how to break down Plymouth, a poor team prepared to get 9 men behind the ball and fight but offering nothing else.

Having said that we are 3rd in the league, go figure...... :dunno: :dunno:

Decent 3 points.

I weren't at the game so haven't got a clue how it went.

I will guess Howard was useless when he came on though

How were the players today good? Kermo any good?

It's a new-fangled position called the 'wing-back'. You may hear more about it in future as other teams adopt similar positional tactics.

:giggle:

They also were not being asked to defend today, Plymouth had no attacking intent. If we picked two traditional full backs today they'd be stood doing precisely fook all for 90 minutes.

I thought we were unlucky not to steamroller them today. Had plenty of chances, all the possession and never looked like conceding. They were playing a pretty rigid 9-0-1 parked on their 18 yard box, it was going to be hard to break them down but we did it enough to deserve the victory.

I'll quote the codpiece the best I can ...."you look at Leicester, not the best team (or along those lines) flying high up there and we should have beat them, shows how strange/open the league is.

I saw that. What a knob. If anyone should have won that game it was us.

Robbie again!!!

"Are Leicester anything like the side MON put out?" An absolute instant "NO" Whilst I agree his delievery was so bitter!

This is entertainly shit, Saturday nights in are officially the future.

Sir Steve Claridge!! :worship:

Sav: Yeah we played them away and lost...

Sav: Yeah we played them at home and lost...

Sav: Yeah we played them away and lost...

Steve: Is there a team that hasn't beat you this season??

Brilliant :scarf:

As for the game: Boring, lack that creativity that could potentially take us up + that crackhead bloke was back in K1 nr L1 albeit alot quieter than last time thank god!

Thought Rendall Munroe was meant to be on the pitch at half time, anyone know why this didn't happen??

Savage is being an absolute cock end. If he thinks that Derby deserved to beat us in that match, he's more delusional than his haircut suggests. In fact, that match was almost a replay of todays, minus the goal.

Oh, and by the way Sav, since QPR are (quote) 'the best team we've played', then dig out a tape from a few weeks back and see how City dominated them. Thats why we're third, and you're nowhere, you slow floppy haired nonce.

And as for that commentator saying Leicester have 'quietly moved to third' - the reason it's quietly is because everyone on this show refuses to bloody mention us! :frusty: When they asked that question about City, Savage just responded like a spoilt brat, and Claridge looked like he was trying to retreat inside his shirt to avoid the question.

This show gets my goat sometimes. I think I need to see an old edition of the championship, to remind me that its a lot better than what we used to put up with.

To be fair, if I was Munroe I wouldn't have finished my shift in Liquid yet.

I felt sorry for Neilson and Berner - they were expected to be our wingers and defenders and had no support at all. Berner can handle this pressure but Neilson looks like he's exposed without a winger supporting him.

Me too. Nielson can't really cross the ball, ok I love the man, but he really does need a winger there - and a proper one in that.

Robbie Savage. Christ you absolute wafa lol

Anyone watching Football league show will know what I'm reffering to.

Felt like ringing up and saying.

"Where are you in the league mate?"

Posted

Robbie Savage, you absolute cockwad. Until you learn to defend, shut your beaky face.

Come back when you've won a game.

Then welcome back. :D

A pretty dire game in my opinion, Plymouth were there for the taking, I felt we played down at their level nearly all the game.

This was possibly something to do with the team selection and formation we played.

Despite the fact that we seemed to dominate the game we never seemed to look like scoring.

In fact it was one of those games where you felt the opposition could have snatched a late winner, to leave us disillusioned.

Still don't care as long as we won.

Not bothered who scored or how, just give us the 3 points thanks. :D

Can't wait to see what Thracian has to say. lol
