Samilktray Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Im sure to some people its a daft concept, but I find it all quite interesting, has anyone on here got any good links to read up on it? Im sure someone like El Empty will have a bit of knowledge on it?
Daggers Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Many centuries ago, they were placed in charge of Dan Brown's talent. They have been sworn not to let anyone have access to it. Especially him.
Zingari Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 At local and lower levels , i'm pretty sure it is a fairly benign and helpful organisation , but there is deep suspicion at around 30 to 33rd degree where it seems to take on a much more sinister and international influencing organisation , they are often linked to such other organisations such as "skull and bones" , "bilderbergers" etc which are rumoured to have grand designs for what is usually described as a "new world order" or "global goverment" , but i'm fairly sure that the average mason knows no more about this than non masons Check out a couple of mysterious things on google such as the "Georgia Guidestones" or people such as Albert Pike , Aliester Crowley etc . Basically there are loads of links to this sort of stuff so it's not much use recommending any web sites in particular so it's probably more fun to just follow your nose wherever you want it to lead you Big problem with looking too deeply into this "world conspiracy" stuff is that it is very absorbing and you can lose hours going from site to site reading stuff by the likes of alex jones , david icke, jim marrs etc who all claim to have " joined up the dots " and see the work of masons, bilderbergers etc. behind all the major events that happen in the world , All these groups are very much into symbology and there are loads of sites that will help you look out for their influence in designs etc Interesting stuff though
fatmando Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 My workmate recently joined the freemasons. His Dad got him into it. Since joining (12 months go) the fella has changed a lot. Spilt with his long term mrs, has a lot of 'there is no God' banter and stuff. He said he went to some ceremony thing where he had to wear some stupid vale or something and other freemasons dressed up and did some stuff to him while he was bindfolded!! He has days off work to go to "instruction" and has a secret handshake!! Odd...very odd.

Not a very secret society though when you go round getting a bloody massive freemason tattoo done on yer arm.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 has a lot of 'there is no God' banter and stuff. Just on a side note, I thought this bunch of weirdo's were in cahoots with the CoE?? That's what I understood anyway.
BoneDog Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Now this is what I call a Thread ! But for now I've got to nip to the post match stuff
Zingari Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Now this is what I call a Thread !But for now I've got to nip to the post match stuff i'm relying on you this could lead to "911 was an inside job " and all sorts
Samilktray Posted 2 January 2010 Author Posted 2 January 2010 i'm relying on you this could lead to "911 was an inside job " and all sorts I wish he'd hurry up and enlighten me!
Bryn Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Why would a Freemason denounce God? I was under the impression Freemasons had to be men of faith?
lou Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Couple of my Dads friends are Freemasons... ones a lawyer and the other an Accountant, they havent renounced God at all and arent in the least bit weird to be fair. They do an awful lot for local charities by all accounts. I dont see the harm
Wycombe Fox Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Nothing from RC yet? Don't ask Haraven about Stone Freemasonry.
Finnegan Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 i'm relying on you this could lead to "911 was an inside job " and all sorts I think you'll find the truth behind 911 is already out there.

I know a mason in the same situation... maybe it's the same person or do they pray on newly single men?
lou Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 I know a mason in the same situation... maybe it's the same person or do they pray on newly single men? well as 1 in 2 marriages end in divorce its pretty much odds on some of them will be

They believe in a higher power without stating a specific god so that it's open to people of all faiths. It's not something I'd want to join but it seems harmless to me.

There are different variations of Masons but they generally follow the King James version of the bible

Hey I never said they were harmfull or any sort of threat. I just said the stuff they get up to together is a bit odd. The bloke I mentioned before (ten years we've worked together, I know him quite well) spilt with his mrs as a direct result of joining and started saying there is no god about 6 months back. That's not to say all freemasons do this tho....just this 1 guy. Gunna laugh with him 'bout this thread on Monday (and take the p*** as per usual).
davieG Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 If the stories of masons involved law making, the judiciary and policing are true where to 'belong' gets you off then they're a bad and unacceptable influence. No one should be above the law!
haraven Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 Nothing from RC yet?Don't ask Haraven about Stone Freemasonry. Aha! This is all a plot. I assure you, there is no freemasonry, there is no holy grail - there are no Knight Templars. However, during in-game chat, we rediscovered the greatness of the Stone Masons...
lou Posted 2 January 2010 Posted 2 January 2010 If the stories of masons involved law making, the judiciary and policing are true where to 'belong' gets you off then they're a bad and unacceptable influence. No one should be above the law! Theres loads of corruption and "you scratch my back and Il scratch yours" that goes on in all walks of life. Plenty of non-masons call in favours or get friends in high places to get them out of trouble etc, its hardly unique to Freemasons. Money talks more than membership of a secret society

Money talks more than membership of a secret society None of it is acceptable, at least the other examples are adhoc and down to individual judgement where as with FM it seems to be a rule of belonging, also there's at least a chance of the other examples being detected but no so the FMs.
