Edmund Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Really worth it's own thread? I mean he's a good player but not exactly world class.
davieG Posted 6 January 2010 Author Posted 6 January 2010 Really worth it's own thread? I mean he's a good player but not exactly world class. Well I went to put it in the Let's all Laugh at Leeds thread but some bastard Nazi Mod has closed it. I then thought about the LCFC transfers thread because it must mean Pearson's after him.
lou Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Doesnt he on a weekly basis? Whos been tappin up his agent then?
Edmund Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Well I went to put it in the Let's all Laugh at Leeds thread but some bastard Nazi Mod has closed it. I then thought about the LCFC transfers thread because it must mean Pearson's after him. can you not reopen it. Admin > Mod. I'm guessing he's off to Newcastle though. I'm pretty sure Hughton came out and said they were trying to buy him. I bet Leeds will want silly money for him. Unless we get that £8 million from the Fryatt deal we don't stand a chance.

Bert Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Bit silly, when he could've left with dignity in the summer. Be interesting to see how Leeds do without him. I do know he's been shown around here before....
lou Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 funnily enough as soon as he scored that goal against Man Utd I said hed do this Fancies himself as a top Prem striker now
lou Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Where do we think he's going then? Newcastle is my guess
CosbehFox Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 In one swift action, he fully illustrates the reason why people are so 'off' him. Newcastle are awaiting provided they can cough £2.5million.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Expect to see him rolling into St. James' Park by the weekend. Or The DW Stadium, which would stop a few arses twitching around here.
samjohnson Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 FROM SKY SPORTS Leeds United have confirmed that striker Jermaine Beckford submitted a transfer request prior to their win over Manchester United. The 26-year-old netted the only goal of the game as Leeds upset their illustrious rivals in the FA Cup third round at Old Trafford on Sunday. However, Leeds have revealed that Beckford requested to leave two days after scoring a brace in their 4-2 League One win at Stockport. Although Leeds have consistently maintained the striker would not be leaving before the end of the season, his stance means they will now consider suitable offers. With Newcastle interested in securing the marksman, Leeds say Beckford can leave at the right price providing a replacement can also be found in January. Request "Leeds United can confirm that Jermaine Beckford has handed in a transfer request," read a statement on the club's official website. "The transfer request was handed in on December 30. "By handing in a transfer request it clearly indicates that the player wants to leave Leeds United. "However, that will only be allowed to happen in the event that it is decided to be in the best interests of Leeds United. "The best interests of Leeds involve receiving both an acceptable transfer fee and securing a suitable replacement to ensure his departure does not have an adverse effect on the club's overall aim of securing promotion back to the Championship." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5837672,00.html
Vlad The Impaler Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Expect to see him rolling into St. James' Park by the weekend. Or The DW Stadium, which would stop a few arses twitching around here. I thought Hull may have a go at getting him in.
foxer Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 Newcastle will get him and i'm glad. We've got a good bunch of lads at the moment who are playing well and enjoying their football together. We've not had as good a team spirit as this since the MON era, and he could ruin that so easily. Plus we've not got any money have we!
Vlad The Impaler Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 We won't be signing Jermaine Beckford ok!?
harpendenfox Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 1. Beckford leaves Leeds for £2.2 million 2. We sell Gradel to Leeds for £1 million 3. Fryatt stays put 4. We buy Gilbert for £750,000 5. The transfer window shuts

Samilktray Posted 6 January 2010 Posted 6 January 2010 If we signed him I'd flap my cock in my Leeds supporting mates face. But I know better than to think he'll sign.

AyewJoking Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 How did that coversation go? Beckford: "No way I'm signing a new contract even if we go up" Leeds scum: "OK but can you please hand in a transfer request to panic potential buyers into buying you in this transfer window so we dont lose you for nothing come the end of the season"
maddog Posted 7 January 2010 Posted 7 January 2010 Would you swap Fryatt for Beckford I'm 50/50. Of course it's a hypothetical scenario because Fryatt would never drop down to League One and go to Leeds.

No I wouldn't swap them personally, I'd love to see Beckford here but not at the expense of Fryatt.
